They messed up our reservation, even though the place was only about two-thirds full. Brisk service invited us to take sparkling mineral water - yes please. More service invited us to choose wine - yes please. We then waited and waited and waited .... After 20 minutes, I asked where our water was. After half an hour, I asked where was our wine, having seen a couple who arrived way after us enjoying their wine. Eventually, we received some service.
Having ordered our starters and mains, we then waited for the food - and waited and waited.... I watched as the couple who had got their wine before us, also got their food before us. Then, a table of 14 people (obviously locals), who had ordered a long time after us, received their food.
Eventually we were served some food. Oh, dear. Tiny queen scallops for the starter had been disgracefully overcooked. They were like rubber balls. Blue eyed cod for the main was also dry and overcooked. Dismal seafood.
On top of these disasters, the atmosphere was dreadful. The noise was so strident, ear-shatteringly loud and oppressive that it was actually physically uncomfortable and unpleasant.
Our waitress did not seem to care but at least as we were leaving, perhaps having recognised our distress, said that maybe they might get things right next time. I'm afraid there will not be a next time! Perhaps if you are local you may receive better service, but why bother when the cooking is of such a low standard. Fish was cooked far better at the Huskisson Pub Bistro.
