A lot of money has been spent on refurbishing this hotel but nothing has been invested in staff training. The food is good and the rooms OK in a sterile sort of way but no AC. The staff are nice kids but they lack direction and commitment. You feel the customers are just a nuisance they could do without. The problem is that there appears to be no onsite hands on management.
Its a pity because the hotel is very well located and has had a lot money invested in it both of which should give great result but the lack of follow through means the client has a third rate experience.Noise from the restaurant air extraction plant permeates most rooms making sleep very difficult.
Will not visit again.

Room Tip: Dony pay extra for ocean view as you get nothing more than ordinary room

The location is what you are paying for, right at the end of the road next to the water.

The positives -
The hotel rooms are very modern and nice. The beds are comfortable and the shower is great.
The hotel restaurant has a great menu and great views of the water. The food is pretty good.
The hotel is in a great location.
The staff was friendly, just they were wait staff... see below

The negatives -
No Air Conditioning - I don't know if that is the norm in this area, but for almost $200 I expected more than just a window and a fan. Thankfully we missed the heat wave and it was bearable.

No Hotel Staff - There is no front desk, and no hotel management of any kind from what I could see. You check in at the counter of the restaurant where you place your food. If you need something you have to find a waitress to help you out. I would say this was more like a room above a bar than a hotel.

Bad wifi - We were told there was wifi, good luck getting a connection. I don't mind not having it, but don't tell us it is there.

Thin floors - Luckily our room was not right above the bar, but we could still hear the music, and it was just music from the speakers, not live music.

This hotel could be very nice, it just needs to decide if it is a hotel or a room above a bar. For the price, changes need to be made.

Great location in Huskisson town. The beach is a few minutes walk. Hyams Beach is a 10 minute drive. Booderee National Park (where all the nice beaches are) is a 10-15 minute drive + $11 entry fee. 'The Huskisson' is really just a bunch of small rooms above the local pub. Check-in is at the food desk (which should be changed) and you are given our room keys... no paper to sign, no credit card imprint. Room is small but nice for 2 people. It's modern and bed is comfy. We stayed here on a Saturday night and the music outside stopped at 8:30 so i am not sure what other people are talking about. No AIR CON, only a ceiling fan. We payed $260.00 for one night and this was just way over priced. This was a last minute booking and it was fine for 1 night. BUT next time we will stay for 3 or so nights and at another place. Pub food is pretty good but expensive! Try a place 'Tasty Treats' across the road... MMMMM

Hi There,

We arrived on a Thursday night and were advised by the bar tender after we paid that "the music is a bit loud on Friday at Saturday".

We got to bed at 12.30am as the music was so loud the room was vibrating, we were told by the owner the next morning that this is a PUB and we should have known even though nowhere on the website stated that this is hotel was actually a pub and that there would be any kind of noise issue.

Once asleep we were then woken up at 3am to a fire alarm the fire men arrived 45 minutes later to notice that there was no fire safety warden or anyone in management to look after us and NO fire evacuation plans on the back of the doors.

Mypartner and I organised to meet and speak with the owner all together the next morning, her husband did not want to speak with us however the wife did. She gave us many excuses about the music and the living quarters and advised her son was on the premises but didn't come out as he wasnt sure if this was a fire drill or a burglary to which we said, what if it was a fire? After 40 mins in the meeting she finally agreed to give our money back not because of the noise problem but because the establishment was not up to code.

Our Holiday was ruined and sadly we had been scouting the location for our wedding, the whole area has been tainted for us. We have passed this information onto family and friends so they will not stay in this establishment.

As we explained at the time, the fire alarm during your stay was an unfortunate inconvenience that could not have been avoided nor ignored by the hotel. We do not control the fire brigade, and we most certainly do not take any fire alarm as a joke. We apologised at the time to all our guests, and do so again unreservedly now.
The claim that the hotel is "not up to code", however, is wildly incorrect. In fact, our recent renovations have meant that the entire building now complies with the most up-to-date safety regulations, which is something few Heritage-listed buildings can say of their accommodation.
Luckily, all our other guests on this particular weekend understood the need for an evacuation following the fire alarm, and accepted our sincere apology. Similarly, we consider that all future guests would accept the risk of this type of situation ocurring in any public building and understand that is it an almost-negligible rarity.
Nevertheless, we hope you found a suitable venue for your wedding and return to enjoy the beauty of the South Coast again one day, despite the very real risk of a fire alarm ruining your weekend.

I left my accommodation too the last minute for my trip to Jervis Bay and this was the only place available that did not charge too much. The room was very clean and had all new amenities. We had a view over the water. Even if the there was some obstruction from the view it was still nice to wake up and see the bay. The location is perfect being right in town and the staff were lovely.
