My wife and I stayed at Tallawalla Retreat while touring NSW. We were welcomed with a cream tea in the breakfast room which overlooks the extensive gardens and across the valley beyond. Our room was clean and comfortable, if not spacious, but there is also a large lounge area for guests with deep armchairs, TV and plenty of reading material. All very informal and we were made to feel at home, our stay rounded off with a well-cooked breakfast in the morning while we watched the birds in the garden. Thoroughly recommended.

It's my pleasure to recommend Tallawalla Dorrigo to anyone needed a relaxing stay among amazing company and scenery.

After a 9 hour car journey, my fiance and I arrived in Dorrigo and to Tallawalla. We weren't sure what to expect really, as most of you know it's hard to actually gauge a hotel experience when booking online, but this was fantastic from the get-go. The building itself is located amongst a wonderful garden, overlooking the magnificent rolling hills atop the mountain at Dorrigo.

Our room was very spacious, with access to the garden and the fantastic view was forefront. All facilities were clean, hygienic and very well kept.

Paul and Di run the B&B and they are extremely welcoming - Amazing in the kitchen. Perfectly cooked bacon & eggs every time, GREAT scones with fresh cream! (really, try the scones.)

All in all we loved our stay at Tallawalla, It wasn't just the room, or the food, or the views. It was it all coming together perfectly but without seeming too rehearsed. It was casual, calm, a actual "getaway from the real world" experience, and I would heavily recommend Tallawalla to anyone in need of that.

Right from the start, Paul and Di made us feel at home, welcoming us with delicious scones, cream and coffee, served in the lovely open glass windowed tea house with scenic garden and farm views. The service was always thoughtful and generous, with a hearty and tasty cooked breakfast thoroughly enjoyed. The room and ensuite were very clean, homely and spacious. The lounge, kitchen and dining areas were very welcoming and comfortable. Facilities included books and large television. The location was easy to find and close to town, but in a quiet and tranquil rural setting. We wandered easily through the shady, cool garden which pleased our senses with many scented flowering and fruiting trees and plants to the tune of several native birds. We purchased some very tasty home made jams using home grown fruit and a large variety of packaged teas were also available. The best things were the personal touches to the decor, facilities and service. A more inviting pool and tennis court would compliment the otherwise outstanding facilities. Highly recommended.

My mother and I stayed here for a couple of days. The proprietors Paul and Di kindly upgraded us from a family room to a room each. Each room was very clean and tidy with an en-suite bathroom. My bathroom boasted a bath and a spacious shower cubicle. Paul and Di were very friendly and helpful. Set on the spine of a hill, the B&B was very clean and tidy. The lounge is very spacious and well appointed with a large TV and books and games. The dining room is very spacious with a panoramic view of the rustic farmland below and afternoon tea as well as a choice of an English or continental breakfast were included in the cost which was very reasonable. It was an outstanding find with the only downside being that the pool was closed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and I didn't want to leave.
