Never having visited Cobar before, I based my decision to stay here on the very positive comments of other guests and I was not disappointed. Cobar Central Motel is a very modest looking country-style motel on the outside but the rooms are equal to any up market motel you would find in a city. The bathroom is beautiful and well appointed. The rooms whilst small, still offer every comfort one would expect from a 4 star motel and they are light and airy, unlike some motels which are depressing the moment you get inside.
Robyn on reception was very friendly and welcoming. We were very impressed and grateful for a comfortable bed after a long drive to get here. I would really recommend this motel to everyone.

Room Tip: ask nicely

Stayed here for one night on way to Queensland. The staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and well equipped. Excellent value. Have scored only average on sleep quality as bed was little hard for me but my husband found it ok. Would stay again if passing through Cobar.

Room Tip: We had king room which faced pool. Little noisy during day but very quiet once sun went down.

This motel looks unprepossessing from the outside, but has very modern, elegant rooms which are a pleasant surprise - especially the bathrooms. Friendly staff and a great little salt-water pool for some exercise and cooling down after a hard day on the roads. Easy to find from the main highway, and in walking distance to restaurants and shops. Internet connections are a bit unreliable, but this is not surprising in a remote location. The buffet breakfast is more like a miners' canteen (a coffee plunger would have been good), but there is plenty of food and we enjoyed chatting to the miners about their work.

Stayed here for one night on way to Broken Hill. Clean, secure motel. I think in 2012, charging for internet is not right. It is like electricity and water. The internet is how we live.
There was a $5 charge, however it didnt work, so wasnt charged. Didnt have breakfast, as I felt at $18 for a hote breakfast, was a bit expensive. Stopped at the road house for much less.

Only stayed one night (news year day) as all mine attraction in & around town were closed so we had to cut our stay short, even the tourist center was closed can you believe???. The room was modern & you can tell had recently been upgraded. Al mods & features were new & of course clean as a whistle. We can not fault the service or quality. They even cooked eggs to your choice even when they weren't even on the menu. The service they offer to mining guests was impressive, as they have facilities for them to make their own lunch from a wide range of selections, so if any miners are considering staying this is a huge bonus.
