Description: Meters back from legendary main beach, Balcony Bar & Oyster Co sits perched high above the hustle and bustle of Byron Bays busy streets. This heritage listed building is reminiscent of a seaside beach house. The signature wrap around deck captures the setting sun and is the perfect place to tuck into some freshly shucked oysters with an icy cold beer or a glass or rose. Executive Chef Sean Connolly has prepared a menu reflecting his signature style of cooking; simple, approachable and where possible on the bone or in the shell, allowing the produce to speak for itself. Balcony Bar & Oyster Co. exudes a neighbourhood spot where you can drop by anytime for a drink with friends and a few oysters or small plates.

We often venture out for breakfast or lunch either during the week or the weekend to Byron Bay, with a plan to visit the Balcony. We always go here because we know the Service is warm, friendly
and you are made to feel welcome. Once seated we are offered the 'specials' (wonderful clam spaghetti one time, which was brilliant). Our last visit was for Valentine's Day. The day was a little wet and windy but that didn't dampen our experience in the slightest.. Great Tapas, particularly the bacon wrapped prawns in pesto, Champagne and wonderful service. On our way out at the bottom of the stairs, was a young American couple,
who asked us 'what's the food like'? of course we gave them a rave review, and up they went.
One tiny suggestion for the really "hot" days - BALCONY advertised coolers for the beers would be great ! maybe with a view to patrons buying them, great advertising & keeping the beer lovely & cold - lots of people drink from the sm bottles..

Just love this place. It is a Byron institution. Produce is primo, food delicious and the staff always friendly and they go out of their way to help. It is impossible to better it in Byron Bay for quality delivery and service. Always the best.

Was a little disappointed by the liberal advertising of happy hour, stating wines at $6.50 (choice of one white, one red), beers were as stated on the board, then 'selected tapas', with no suggestions forthcoming from the waiting staff about which tapas were in the happy hour - seems a couple off the menu? Why don't they just have a happy hour menu if their staff can't take the time to establish that, while you're there for happy hour, not everything is included. Otherwise, the food we had was very tasty

If you like breakfast as your favorite meal of the day then this is a great place to experience it.I love sitting on the lounge chairs drinking coffee, chai,or fresh juice ,reading the paper and eating a delicious meal. The price range is inexpensive but increases for the dinner menu where the atmosphere is more romantic at night.
The staff are friendly and the setting is very comfortable with heaters in winter.
The cocktails with your dinner meals are reasonably priced and taste fab! There is a happy hour after 5pm weekdays.
This is a restaurant for all occasions which is open early to very late.

Great location & views got us in the door. We had the lunch special of filet mignon & barra steak. Both were tasty & good value (lunch specials). Couches are great.
