Nice basic motel good location very clean with excellent access to the beach only gripe you would get better WiFi on Mars, the staff were very helpful we arrived late and they waited for us with our key, on the whole enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

G'day Enzo,
Very happy to hear you enjoyed your stay.
Yep, our fight with the WiFi network is nearly over.
Some hardware issues has meant it's been patchy over the last week or so but it's all being replaced shortly.
We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Cheers,
Andy

Stayed here for a couple of nights as part of a roadtrip between Brisbane and Sydney. we loved Byron Bay and the stunning beaches
Had we been staying longer then would have liked something fancier but was ok for 2 nights. The family room was clean and spacious and had some basic facilities for making breakfast
The decor was a little tired and dated, location was excellent with access to beach and town.
Suited us for a budget Stopover.

G'day Jetsetsuzi,
Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay with us here at The Wollongbar.
It's true, there are certainly fancier 4 and 5 star resorts around town which suit some people...it just depends on what you want to spend and what's important.
As you said, the location and proximity to the beach and town is a highlight for us and we've been gradually replacing the furniture etc.
All in good time.
Safe travels out there.
Andy.

A nice well appointed hotel in the heart of Byron Bay. Thr rooms are spacious and have the requirements required for a comfortable stay in a good location in the heart of Byron Bay. Only a short stroll to the main Byron precinct.
The only thing we noticed was the hot water took a long time to get through to the shower head.

An old motel close to the busy shopping and entertainment area of Byron and the beach. The room was uninspiring with white walls and no prints to break the monotony. The chairs and table were plastic and too big for the space. We had a sliding door which you couldn't leave open as the smoker next door was sitting next to our door puffing away happily. There are better options nearby. Reception closes at 7pm.

G'day Kim,
Many thanks for your feedback.
I'm the new manager for The Wollongbar Motel in Byron Bay (started 5 weeks ago) and we've been discussing simple artwork for the rooms and potentially upgrading some of the furniture. (Great minds think alike it seems)! A lot of people have commented on how they actually like the simplicity of the decor...so finding the balance will be the challenge.
Not sure I can do much about guests smoking outside...that's where people smoke I guess.
Correct...reception closes at 7. It lets me spend time with my family also.
Safe travels out there...welcome back anytime...time to hang a picture or two!!
Much love. Andy.

Chose it on location and reviews. Weren't disappointed. Very clean, great location only a few minutes walk to 100's of shops, private beach access. No meals but plenty of nearby options. Very large bathrooms. Good parking. Would return.
