“A really lovely place to stay in Byron”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2012

I thought the location of Waves was terrific. It is close to the beach and shops and has a secure underground carpark (just check on height restrictions if you have gear on top of your car). The rooms were spacious and clean...I loved being able to have a bath and appreciated having a lovely warm room every night as the air conditioner was quiet and effective. I thought having Austar TV channels and muffins and expresso coffee and apples for breakfast were nice extras too. The only things I missed having in the room was a microwave oven and some bowls for cereal...but then I did stay for three days. During that time the staff were really pleasant and friendly (it really sets the atmosphere for your holiday) and bent over backwards to help me have a lovely stay. I would definitely recommend Waves to anyone who needs a lovely holiday in Byron.

Great location, walk to everything but on a quieter st.
Room (12) was lovely with the most comfortable king bed, best sleep in a long while.
Lovely bathroom we felt very pampered.
We particularly loved the reception area, very cool with awesome artwork and lovely lounges & fireplace.
Complimentary fresh coffee, muffins juice and crispy apples served here each morning, if you're after a more hearty breakfast you simply cannot go past the Aquarius Backpackers across the rd in Lawson St. HUGE delicious breaky at an incredibly reasonable price, only wish we'd been able to try lunch there too.
Staff at the hotel were awesome, helpful & friendly (thank you Kirsten for looking after us)
Had a peek at the penthouses which have a kitchen, i think they would make for a fantastic stay.
Thank you we will be back for sure!

People come to Byron for many reasons. For me, the view is the thing. It's actually relatively hard to find a place where you can watch the waves from your bed without spending a fortune. Main Beach Apartments offer one of the more affordable options if location and views matter to you.

The apartments are managed by Waves & we received a friendly welcome. Most of the furnishings are very new, although other pieces are looking pretty battered. The bathroom is pretty dated, so maybe if luxury is your thing this may not be for you. However, if you like to wake as the sky lightens, walk across 50m of grass to the sand and onto the beach - it doesn't get better.

Thank you for your review of Main Beach Apartments in Byron Bay. These are 3 star apartments with a 5 star view! Certainly one of the best locations in town!

We are pleased that you received a friendly welcome as we pride ourselves on our great customer service.

We look forward to greeting you again!

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment in the upper floor. The views was limited, there was huge park before we could see the ocean view. I would say it only has partial view of the ocean not full view. The apartment was very old and outdated, however we could see it has been simply repainted. The was a large veranda facing Lawson street, you could hear and see everything on that veranda from the apartment as tenants from other floors would go there. The apartment came with undercover car parking. Overall experience was just mediocre.

Our 2 bedroom apartments are 3 star. We think they are comfortable and have possibly the best views in Byron Bay. From the ground floor apartments you have easy access to the park and literally, a 2 minute walk to the beach. These apartments are great for families as it is easy to see the kids from your balcony.
Our upper floor apartments do have lovely views across the park to the beach and ocean. I don't believe that there is another property with full views of the ocean in Byron due to sand dunes and national park. All of the balconies and veranda's face the park/beach. It is a quiet area of town and just a 5 minute walk to shops and restaurants.

We hope that you enjoyed your stay at Main Beach Apartments and look forward to seeing you again soon!

Stayed her many times over the last 10 years. Well maintained, if a little tired. But quiet and on occasion not bad value for near beachfront Byron Bay. Not sure a week would be good but a night or two is fine. Good parking and walk to everything.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The room was extremely comfy and spacious. Service was friendly and cheerful and we enjoyed the wine-tasting on Saturday night. What a lovely touch! Great idea to provide coffee and muffins for a light breakfast in the mornings served in the very pleasant foyer. Unfortunately the muffins were a little on the stale side on our first morning but were beautiful and fresh the second. Overall this was a very pleasant place to stay in a beautiful part of the world. Thank you!

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We really appreciate your comments.
Our wine-tasting evenings are on both Friday and Saturday evenings and are very popular.
We are sorry that you found our muffins unsatisfactory on your first morning - this is very unusual as they are the famous homemade Byron Bay Muffins!
We hope to see you again at Waves! Byron Bay is just too beautiful to not visit more than once!

Upon returning from another awesome stay at Waves Byron Bay 25/5 for 3 days, I can't wait to go back. The location is ideal to walk to CBD Byron, be it The Beach Hotel, to the beach, to parks, or just a wander down the streets of Byron Bay.

The room we stayed in (we now call it OUR room - Room 11), is clean, comfy, spacious, luxurious black marbled bathroom, and extremely spacious balcony. It has a king bed, and two double sofa beds if so required.

But the best thing about our stay was and is the staff, especially HELEN, what a gem! Nothing was or is a problem, an absolute delight. The professionalism shown by all staff is what is sadly lacking in other establishments be it at Byron Bay or where ever, so its the normal saying 'You treat me with respect, l will also. You show me laughter, I will also'. The foyer area is also comfy, with a light breakfast and newspapers are available early mornings, however 'early' on this weekend stay, didn't do it for us, but at least we knew it was there if we needed it.

The Waves has become our second home in Byron Bay, and will continue to stay - bless all the staff especially Helen

Room Tip: Ask to be put in a room away from Lawson Street if possible, towards the beach/park, as there is a b...
