“Too expensive for the service and some of the food”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

Part of a resort this restaurant is obviously aimed at captive guests. The wait after ordering probably meant the kitchen staff had to go out to the shops and buy the ingredients......this isn't good enough for $20 appetisers and $38 mains. Some of the food was really good..some was average. There are much better and more profsional places to go in Byron Bay and Bangalow.

“Over-priced and over-rated”
Reviewed March 19, 2013 via mobile

We had high expectations of this restaurant after reading reviews of the resort. The setting was nice - kind of like most S.E Asian resort restaurants with lots of timber and tall, open layout. Diners look out over paperbark forest although we arrived after dark so there wasn't much to see. For the price, we found the food completely underwhelming. $25 for an entree of 'prawns' - ie: literally two prawns with a few discs of chorizo around them. $3.65 per oyster for some of the smallest oysters we have ever seen served. Mains were $40 and, while they were more substantial and tasted good, try we're no better than we have had in a standard cafe for almost half the price. We waited almost an hour between entree and main meals and while the service was friendly, there is no way we would go back. Much better food and atmosphere at lots of restaurants in the heart of Byron. A big disappointment.
