“great setting good coffee”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

This cafe reopened after a concerted effort by locals to prevent it being turned into an exclusive holiday let. If you're going for lunch, best to walk along the beach or at least park up on lighthouse road because you won't get a park at the Pass.
A great semi-outdoor setting. Nice food though like everywhere in Byron Bay now, not cheap. If you want water with your coffee, it comes in plastic single-use 'disposable' cups.
A fine spot after a swim or walk to the lighthouse.

“relax and enjoy”
Reviewed September 5, 2012

Breakfasts here are great and hearty as are the lunches. Service is friendly, courteous and fast. Fantastic to stop here during or after a seaside walk from the Cape Byron Lighthouse or Main Beach to relax with a coffee/juice or something substantial. Check it out.

“Don't bypass The Pass Cafe.”
Reviewed August 17, 2012

The Pass Cafe, tucked away out of the breeze and in the trees above the splendid Pass beach and lookout, is one of Byron's hidden gems. With friendly staff and a simple order-at-the-counter menu, you can drop in for a speedy and good coffee or an equally good breakfast, brunch or lunch. We think they do the best breakfast in town with generous servings of high-quality local ingredients. Their vegetarian breakfast gets 5 stars from us non-veg folk.

Byron has just a smattering of cafes overlooking the water, The Pass is one of them. I guess it's overlooked by many visitors as it doesn't have more than a filtered view of the water but that's to its advantage in the summer, when it's a cool retreat from the heat. But, whatever the weather, the welcome is very warm and they plate up some really delicious food. Drop in, don't go past The Pass!

“Hidden Gem”
Reviewed August 12, 2012 via mobile

I have eaten here many times and would recommend to most people.A hidden gem away from the tourist area of the CBD,tucked into Palm Valley, the original eating place of seafood for the indigenous custodians of the area before white man.The first white man lived in this beautiful part of Cape Byron Bay (renamed Byron Bay) his name was David Jarman.
You won't regret eating at The Pass Cafe.Geoff Bensley

“Great place in a beautiful setting”
Reviewed July 30, 2012 via mobile

The food here is expensive but truly delicious. Staff always friendly and helpful. Very welcoming. Ideal spot for breakfast, a morning coffee, nch or mid afternoon tea. It shuts quite early mid afternoon. Highly recommended. Enjoy your time there overlooking the wooded shore of the Pass an ideal surfing beach below you
