Having stayed a few times at Byron, my wife and I walk this trail normally twice a day. It has everything: coastal sub-tropical rainforest, great vistas over beaches, ocean and hinterland, cliff top trail, lighthouse, and some coffee shops (if you must). It is 3.7 km long, but beware, it includes some 700-odd steps. Wildlife includes bush turkeys (the feathered kind), lizards, and often one can see sting-rays and dolphins frolicking in the waves.
