The staff are particularly warm and friendly, very helpful. When we had a concern we felt very comfortable approaching the staff. facilities were great too, everything we need, it is close to everything and right near the main strip... we will only every stay here when we go to Byron.More
We had not booked any accommodation before arriving in Byron Bay. The first motel was full but sent us to the Hibiscus. We were warmly welcomed by the owner and shown a room before deciding to stay. The room was bright and spotlessly clean.
The Hibiscus is quite central and you can easily walk everywhere from here.
It's an ideal base for a stopover and the owners are a lovely older couple who make you feel very welcome.
The only thing we could have wanted was more pillows for the bed. We used the cushions on the sofa but I'm sure the owners would have supplied more if we had asked..

We will always remember our time here in August 2013, because the new owner/manager made us feel so welcome
and all that was needed was in our very comfortable and clean studio unit. Smiling faces and jolly friendship are the
front door to a pleasant stay in the area, you people provide that. We so enjoyed the beaches, lighthouse,shops , and food and the mix of nationalities. If you wish to find the best in the way of information for a nude beach experience where you can drive within 100 metres of the water just ask at the desk, don,t be shy the maps there for
your help at our suggestion,

We stayed two nights. The room was clean and spacious and the location is good.
Unfortunately we were unable to log onto use the wireless internet and the owners were not comfortable with re starting their modem as they were unsure what we mean't.
I also made the mistake of asking for a coffee plunger. Apparently nobody uses them and no other motels supply them either.(don't know about that). I will therefore assume no other motels have bedside lamps or tables to eat off either. Or anywhere to hang swim suites,towels etc.
Thank you so much for taking the time out to leave a review on TripAdvisor. Hibiscus Motel is certainly well located for the beach, cafes, bars and shops, and even a 'challenging' walk to the lighthouse.
I'm sorry that there were aspects of your stay that were unsatisfactory. We try to ensure our guests have as many 'home comforts' as possible. However we are only a small cosy motel, and nestled in just one street back from the beach, we do not have the space to be able to incorporate all aspects of a larger resort. It is our aim to provide clean, comfortable, friendly accommodation for overnight, or short term stays.
Our internet provider was changed recently, and we experienced some 'teething problems', but now have things running smoothly. As you mentioned, we do not have coffee plungers in the rooms, but we have taken your comments on board and in future will have one or two on hand for those guests that like to use a Plunger. Again, whilst space is at a premium, to give the rooms a more streamline, spacious and modern feel a bench and chairs is provided which can be used for eating. Modern spotlighting is installed in the ceilings above each bed to replace the need for bedside lamps. Whilst we do not have any clothes lines available to dry clothes, we are happy to provide clean, fresh towels daily, or indeed room service daily if requested.
I hope that you choose to visit us again, so that we can make your next stay more pleasurable.
From the outside it looks like a 1970 motel, but the rooms are generous, well refurbished and has great self catering facilities (fridge, microwave and plates cutlery etc and a normal sized sink)
The new owners/managers where fantastic, so friendly and warm nothing was too much trouble, we had a sick son and they washed his clothes and porta cot sheets for us - will come back and stay for sure

We stayed at this motel for one night and were impressed with the renovated room. The motel is in a great location for the town centre. Only a couple of little niggles - the towels smelled a bit musty, like they'd been left damp for too long. Also the room could do with an information guide about how to use the AC, TV, etc.
