“Beautiful craftmanship”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2013

We love to visit this Gallery and drool over the beautiful wood furniture, jewelry boxes and other fine wooden products. The star this time was a $1.5 million cabinet - a 23c gold, shell, jewelry and marquestry piece with 63 drawers and even hidden areas - a 6.5 year work by a master cabinet maker.

The café is not very fancy in layout but the food is very good. We ate delicious food, delivered quickly with country prices and quantities. My hot lamb salad with saffron chick peas and mint yoghurt was superb - compared to either city or country restaurants. The staffing was generous when we visited last, albeit we have also been there when food has taken some time. Coffee and cakes are available.
You need to pick your time to visit on a Sunday as it can be very busy.

“An Amazing Surprise!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2013

My sister-in-law came over from NZ with a recommendation to see this place knowing we planned a trip to Canberra. The friends only said they should see it as my brother-in-law is a boat builder, house builder and furniture builder! After several hours of touring the War Memorial, we needed a change of pace so took the 30 minute drive through pleasant countryside and across the border to Bungendore. The shops are situated within a few square blocks, so it's easy to make you way around. When we walked into the gallery we were completely overwhelmed! I admit we were expecting a few carved bowls and some simple furniture. I was so far off!! Absolutely stunning craftsmanship, artistic pieces, everything made me think, "OMG - isn't it gorgeous, amazing, incredible!" Definitely worth the trip and I highly recommend it!
And after you're through admiring all this artistry, pop across the street to the leather shop for a varied array of leather goods - some will make you laugh!

“Neat, bright and appealing”

Wood is so beautiful and the artworks, furniture and goods were tasteful and fantastic. The gallery is very well lit and individual pieces were presented well for viewing within a spacious atmosphere. I love this place.
