“Great unless you want to use a mobile phone.”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

Spend a few days there at a work function. Rooms are large and comfortable and the food was excellent. I am sure the surrounding countryside was very picturesque, but it rained like crazy for the entire stay.

The main demerits are:
1. Power outlets in the rooms were few and far between - bring your own power board if you hope to charge up more than once device at a time!
2. Shower temperature varied wildly between icy and scolding in the space of a 2 minute shower - presumably dependent on who else was using hot water.
3. Mobile coverage was terrible, mostly non existent - not good when you are still at work!

Room Tip: Bring a power board and shower early!

Spent yesterday at Craigieburn, Bowral. After booking in we were told to take our bags upstairs. No one to help us so we had to go and find someone who worked there and ask if we could get some assistance. No lifts at Craigieburn! We went back downstairs to sit by the fire and read. This was pleasant. We ordered a glass of wine and asked for a couple of packets of chips to go with them. sorry, we don't have chips, peanuts etc.
After a while we went back upstairs to get ourselves ready for dinner only to find the globe in the bedside lamp had blown and the television would not turn on. Called reception for help. The woman arrived shortly after with no globe as she needed to see what type they provided!! I asked to be moved to another room which they agreed to. This room overlooked the roof of the building. Went to dinner and the waiter announced they would provide us with a free bottle of wine which we declined.10% was taken off the bill for a VERY ORDINARY meal. Not feeling happy at this stage.
We did not stay for breakfast and wished to settle the account. The woman at reception reiterated that we were offered a free bottle of wine at dinner thinking that would compensate for the inconvenience. NO WAY. I asked for a discount and she offered to take $50 off the bill. Finally agreed on $68. VERY DISAPPOINTING stay at this run down old place and would not recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Don't bother

Beautiful drive to the Southern highlands for a package stay "Winter in July".

Lounges to while away your time with great fires, daily newspapers.

Rooms nice and spacious huge king bed (2 singles) and the beautiful outlook overlooking the golf course.

Only 1 tiny detail which as a seasoned traveller i always check are the glasses for drinks, Umh!!!! Sorry one had lippy marks around!!

But minor thing aside a great stay ,great location for tripping down to Bowral with it's many shops, cafes.

We had a recent workshop held at Craigieburn situated in the beautiful Southern Highlands. We were welcomed by the wonderful staff who could not do enough for us - Thank you. Highlight for us was sipping Port & enjoying Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows around the campfire after dinner. Most rooms were great with just a few complaints from those that were placed at the back of the hotel with no view. Overall a great experience.

Room Tip: My room 209 was fabulous, opening on to a shared wooden terrace with a spectacular view.

We stayed here in July for three nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The property was beautiful on a lovely road. The golf course views wonderful. We had an Elms Balcony room and whilst there were stairs they carried our bags up to the third floor. Other people that complain about the rickety hallways should remember the age of is property and the wonderful heritage aspects.the hallways gave the place character.our food was wonderful and breakfast with the birds and the sun shining through the windows was lovely. All staff encountered gave a lovely country service. We had room 310 which provided a window view to the golf course and the open verandah too. We could see the stables that other people talk about but once again these provide the property with heritage. Whilst the bathroom was small if two people were using this at the one time...it was fine for one person at a time as long as you did not keep all your cosmetics on the bench. This could be their only improvement to add a bigger vanity if possible otherwise no complaints. The rooms has Austar and tv. The bed was very comfy. Another wonderful Peppers resort. We will return again.

Room Tip: Room 310 but not suitable for people that cannot climb stairs as this room is an elms balcony room o...

The property itself is gorgeous but not up to the luxury standard expected. Balcony rooms lacked privacy if you wish to sit outside your room and enjoy quiet time and the view. The Christmas in Juky dinner was very disappointing. The food was ordinary and the atmosphere lacking. No staff participation, decorations carols or ANY Christmas spirit what so ever.....a small tree on the table was not enough.Breakfast was good and Wayne was lovely.
Certainly not worth the money we paid for the night.

Room Tip: Room 304 is a Elms balcony room but it is at the end of the corridor so it is quiet wthout passing g...

Stayed here in June my myself, what can I say from the moment I rang to say that I was on my way and did they have accommodation available for me; to my arrival to checking in, dinner etc; I experienced excellence customer service here. The place was ever so relaxing, it was like coming home after a 30 year absence. Which it had been that long since I last stayed as a young teenager with my parents. The decor was very comfortable and clean and rooms were serviced daily. Restaurant service was excellent as was the room service. View was very nice overlooking the rose garden etc. The lounge areas and there are 5 areas available to relax in with fires so relaxing and warm. All staff were friendly and always checking if I wanted anything etc. Would definitely stay here again.
