We stayed in room 5 mid week on a stay and dinner offer. The room was was adequate for a 1 night stay especially after a fantastic dinner including many wines from the local area. The short walk from the restaurant to the room was a real blessing. The bed was comfortable and warm and the shower nice and hot. However the bathroom is in need of a renovation and there is not much space to place toiletries and change clothes. We were a little surprised the rooms don't make the most of the areas cottage industries with toiletries ( hand made soaps) it would make it a little more special.
All the staff were very welcoming and professional and our 1 night dinner and accommodation was very good value. We will do it again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back (room 5) to ensure no noise from the car park and road.

Biota Dining bought The Manning Hotel and branded it Biota Dining and Rooms. The hotel adjoins the fabulous two hat Biota Dining restaurant and so makes a perfect location to flop for the night after enjoying one of Biota's famous degustation or á la carte dining experiences. The facade of the hotel has been redesigned to align with the themes and colours of the restaurant. Inside, the rooms are much as they were - small but clean, good lighting, small bar fridge with freezer, complimentary milk and selection of black and herbal teas. The TV is flat screen and mounted high on the wall to make viewing from the comfy beds easy, and there is Austar/Foxtel. The bathrooms have a large walk-in shower, and complimentary liquid body soap/shampoo. We stayed mid-week when Biota offer a Thursday night only special promotion - $300 for two people including five course degustation and one night accommodation. We thoroughly enjoyed our third visit to this restaurant and our second at this hotel. Well worth it !

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the veggie gardens at the back if you wish a quieter option.

April 2014 we had a wonderful meal at Biota which I would thoroughly recommend. Unfortunately we stayed in the rooms attached to the restaurant for the night and were really disappointed. Our shower recess was covered in thick black mould - I would anticipate the shower hadnt been scrubbed for a month, we immediately went to reception to report and nothing was done. Luckily we were out of our room most of the time as we were dining. We paid our full rate for the room and left. Once I got back to Sydney I thought I would email the management to let them know as perhaps their cleaner was bad and they werent aware. I was still feeling miffed that they just didnt seem to care. I sent 3 emails finally management replied with we are upgrading our rooms. So people becareful going there before they upgrade their rooms because meanwhile it seems the black mould will remain. It seems to me that although the restaurant is great the rooms are just an afterthought and management just dont care.
