First impressions were very good, the reception & lounge areas are very attractive & nicely furnished. The receptionist was very friendly & efficient & showed us to our room. The rooms are out at the back of the hotel & do look very motel like from the outside. Our room was in two parts, the first part had a single bed ( used as a sofa) a television, fridge, dvd player & tea & coffee making facilities. Off this was a very compact bathroom. Down a step was the bedroom very nicely furnished with a comfortable bed, the room was fairly compact & the walls are fairly thin. It was spotless.
Having read the reviews for the restaurant we were expecting an excellent meal. The starter was fine. For my main course I chose salmon in a miso broth with asian greens, the piece of salmon was a smallish, over cooked tail end piece, expensive at 29$. My husband had lamb shanks & he was given two, a large portion. All vegetables are extra. Breakfast had a good choice of food & was very good. Service though, at dinner & breakfast was very slow it was more than an hour before we got our main courses at dinner. The staff were all very friendly, but one waitress at dinner is not enough, or maybe the problem lies with the kitchen.More
