NB: Note there are 2 separate review pages for the same place– this one and Grand Mercure Apartments Heritage Park
Signage has obviously improved in recent years as we had no trouble finding the entrance. It is situated adjacent to the Bowral Golf Club. Well placed, within easy walking distance of town centre where there are lots of eateries, restaurants, hotels and supermarkets.
Reception closes at 5pm so make sure you arrive before then – or get the current correct combination for the a/h box. Other than that, we had little the staff/manager was friendly and accommodating during our 1 week stay.
Our 1 b/r apartment was on the first level. There is no lift. We were pleased with the modern decor, quality and appointments. Two flat screen tvs, dvd/cd player, electric (or gas?)fireplace & AC. The kitchen was well equipped for 4 people, and although only limited bench space, had full size fridge, cooktop, oven, dishwasher and MW(convection). On arriving the unit had been cleaned and the linen was crisp and fresh.
The kingsize bed was soft but still had support and we slept well. There was a sofabed in the lounge, to enable up to 4 to share the apartment. Though probably better suited for children due to the thin mattress, it would be OK for adults for a night or 2.
The apartments open up onto the main road side, but although quite busy, it did not impact on our comfort. At night, we closed the doors and used the airconditioning. The car is parked in the open in a carpark beside the apartment block. The apartment balcony was quite narrow, but there was a communal barbecue area (uncovered) that is available to guests.
The large bathroom has a corner spa bath with a rainfall shower head over it. The separate 2 way toilet (door to hallway & bathroom) was a good feature as it also contained a handbasin & the washer/dryer.
No free internet access, though it was available for purchase. Unfortunately, my own mobile internet data access was non-existent in our room and I had to stand outside in the covered way, where I could get some reception, to check my emails.
Apartment swipe card also allowed access to indoor heated swimming pool (uniform 4m depth) and gym equipment (modern but limited). This is towards the front of the complex, whereas the Accor apartments are at the back.
Would stay again if in Bowral
