The motel is in 2 sections - the main motel consists of mini-suites of varying sizes and configurations. While comfortable some rooms are very tight for space, tall and large people may find the quarters "cramped" that just how it was built and the historic qualities have been tastefully preserved. The Priests house across the road has bigger and more modern rooms but is away from the riverfront. Actually you cant see the river anyway because of the levee bank.

Really enjoyed stay at such a quaint place. Proper heritage hotel. Oz could do with more places like this. Not perfect but gorgeous. Fantastic gardens but pool needed a good clean, although it was lovely and cold. 'Diggers on darling' across road walkable for dinner and nice but like all things Oz not cheap. Had a couple vege options too. Lovely owners of property.
Would stay again.

We only stayed one night - had booked for two - as the room in our opinion was totally inadequate for $155 with breakfast being an extra $10 pp which we thought was included. This room is across the road in the Priest's house on the far corner at the back. The view was an unpainted 3m high corrugated iron fence and patch of lawn. Although you could park on the lawn outside the room there are no steps up on to the verandah immediately adjacent to the room.
There were no chairs or a table on the long verandah for us to sit out.- we borrowed a plastic chair from another room to use. The room itself was so squashed that we were unable to watch TV sitting in a chair, There were two chairs in the room - an old computer chair and a cane chair - but from them you were facing the wrong way to view the TV and there was no room to move them. There was no table in the room for us to use to eat our cereal. The other rooms over the road may be OK but our room was the most expensive, the most cramped and the poorest value in all our travels in the outback. We were very disappointed and felt ripped off especially since the place had been recommended to us, Fortunately the helpful Information Centre was able to find us a much better place to stay.

We enjoyed one Saturday night at the Bourke Riverside on a cool night in September. We stayed in the Captain's Room and had a great sleep. Roy and Lillian are excellent hosts. The grounds are the best we have experienced in 4,000 kilometers of driving around Australia on this trip. Ideal for outside BBQ, letting children play, or just enjoying the stars. Breakfast was perfect with a nice assortment for a continental breakfast. There was only one deficiency that might give me pause on a future visit. There was no internet broadband available in the room. I would give five stars but this is a deal breaker for my business requirements. Enjoy with my wife? Absolutely. Choose for business? Probably not.

We stayed here for 2 nights & thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Classed as a motel I would suggest this is more boutique motel then just a motel. Every room has been done in a different theme, ours was the Mona Lisa which had a very modern bathroom, a bedroom & a lounge, all dressed up with antique type furniture & little trinkets, very charming & created the atmosphere that made you want to stay in the room all day.
The bed was very comfortable with a lovely doona that kept us very warm on some very cold nights, the rooms were quiet & peaceful.
The motel is well positioned with a short walk across the road to a lovely pub which served great steaks, & a very nice restaurant which I can't comment on as the pub was just way to good. A local IGA store was also a short walk away for groceries supplies.
The car park is a bit of a mish mash but it's not to far to your room. The grounds of this place are huge with a beautiful garden which was very pleasant to walk around. The service was good from both the owners who were both very helpfull with any thing we needed.
Overall a very pleasant experience, I would love to come back here.

Overall this is a charming place to stay, with pretty gardens and a stone's throw to the river and main street shops. The living room was a little small and the furniture a bit cramped, but the bedrooms were nice and spacious with comfy beds and lots of bedding for the chilly nights. The breakfast which I thought was included was $9.00 each, so we ate our own cereal. Friendly staff with a good selection of DVD's to watch in your room - good if your travelling with kids.

I love this place. The rooms are so lovely, quaint and full of gorgeous antiques. Beds are so comfy (the electric blanket was very welcome). The hosts are just lovely, offering real old fashioned country warmth. The gardens are lovely and the old cat and dog sleeping around the verandahs just add to the homelike feeling that the Riverside offers.
