Port of Bourke Hotel
Ranked #5 of 10 Restaurants in Bourke
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: $8 - $35
Cuisines: Australian
Description: In the Hotel foyer and main bar, we have tried to capture the spirit of those halcyon days when Bourke was a busy port, woolgrowers were prosperous and the labor movement was stirring in Bourke. Elsewhere the hotel is contemporary, reminding ourselves that Bourke has modern, colourful rural industries operated by real people. The Hotel began its life as "The Royal" in 1863. It was then renamed the "Old Royal Hotel" and took on a heritage flavour, and it had a major facelift in 1993 before its renaming and re-energising as "The Port of Bourke Hotel" in July 1997. * Country style accommodation at the hotel is available all year. * Counter meals are available 7 days a week 12-2pm. * The bistro is open Monday to Saturday 6.30-8.30pm. * The restaurant facilities are also available for private functions. * Secure parking facilities are available. * There is a modern bar and well grassed beer garden to enjoy a drink in air-conditioning or the shade. * Kids playground in the beer garden

I came here with a large group of colleagues for dinner. We lined up and paid for our meals but no one had any idea what the deal was. When we asked the girl taking payments she was clearly agitated and gave us the shortened version which confused us even more. The food itself was great and the selection of sides impressive.
The bar service was awesome! Strong and cheap mixes - friendly atmosphere and classic settings. The front varendah could've done with some outdoor heaters.

Not a bad place to eat. Meals are expensive for what you get, although the place has a nice atmosphere! Feels a bit like school camp - help yourself to the salad bar. Overall not bad but I think there are better places for the money!

I think this might be the only pub in town now but, never fear, it's a beautiful old building, the staff are helpful and the food is pretty good. The chef handles the meat and you help yourself to salads or veggies and it is a congenial place to spend the evening. Don't ask for a Marguerita.

Great backyard with a big playground for the kids. A real outback pub with very good simple food. You basically choose your meat or fish and they BBQ it for you. You can enjoy as much veggie or salad you want . Great spot in Bourke
