“Great relaxed atmosphere”
Reviewed December 5, 2013 via mobile

I visited and stayed at the silos 13 years previous and it was enjoyable then and even greater now. Raj and his partner are great hosts and the location and wine is really wonderful. A definite recommendation.

The restaurant also served very good food not quite 5 star but on the way there. My only comment would've been to change the curtains in the rooms to something either Laura Ashley or plainer the rooms were more than adequate otherwise.

Thank you to our hosts for a fantastic stay. The view over the vineyard is quite breathtaking. With the restaurant and cellar door right on hand there is enough to stay put, but beautiful Berry and Seven Mile beach are only moments away.

Silos Estate was a wonderful surprise... beautiful accommodation in a stunning setting that was affordable, very comfortable and had unexpected touches of genuine hospitality.

We were attending the wedding of friends there, and after looking at many other options online, thankfully this cottage became available to us. (The convenience of actually staying at the location of a festive event is an obvious one!)

To arrive to sparkling wine from the vineyard, complimentary port and a fridge full of basic breakfast needs is such a nice welcoming gesture. A comfortable bed, a suite that was clean in every corner, nice décor (apparently not the norm in Berry, after witnessing some design-crimes online) and a stunning view... there's so much to like about this special spot.

Didn't get the chance to try the restaurant as it would normally operate, but the food at the wedding was great and the staff very friendly.

On check-out we had the pleasure of meeting owner Raj, who has that rare gift of authenticity. A hotelier/owner (winemaker?) who genuinely makes you feel welcomed.

Room Tip: Try the wines while you're there, too. Silos Estate's 'Cats Meow' rosé has a compl...

Just had a wonderful relaxing three days at Silos Estate. The accommodation was more like an apartment, with everything that you could need for a relaxing getaway. Generous breakfast materials provided for you to make a substantial breakfast, and the complimentary sparkling wine and port, with cheese and crackers, made us feel very welcome. The wines come from the winery on the property and were really tasty. We will be back!

Room Tip: We had the spa suite and the sitting room suite which interconnect and gave us plenty of room.

We held our wedding at Silos in late March of this year. From our first meeting with the staff at Silos I was impressed with their friendliness and their professionalism. The owner provided us with many options and allowed us to make choices which suited our budget with absolutely no pressure. While he did advertise the facilities available on the estate (it is his business after all!) he also told us that there were other places to eat and stay in Berry, although we chose to stay on-site and hold the reception at the on-site restaurant. The food was perfect, the wines were delicious and the accommodation was not only very comfortable but also came fully stocked with cheese, wine and breakfast supplies including hot breakfast ingredients and good coffee. It is also worth noting that the views on the estate are amazing. All of our guests complimented us on our choice of venue after the event.

Overall our experience of Silos has been nothing short of perfect and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a wine tasting, lunch, weekend getaway or wedding venue. Additionally it is pet-friendly, which is a rare find. Can't speak highly enough of the place!

We went to Silos for lunch and enjoyed their fish special with house wine. The fireplace in the restaurant and views are lovely and their alpacas are so cute. We also had a wine tasting and had to buy a few bottles before leaving!

I don't really have a lot of time to write reviews for places we go to atm because of my baby twins, but I really do care/like Silos Estate and wanted to defend it, after seeing some of the reviews here.

We now tried their Spa Suite, which was connected to their Sitting Room Suite. The Spa Suite was even better than the Sitting Room Suite, not only for its size due to a full dining table and living room, but also for the lovely additions in the fridge that allows you to cook a hearty breakfast in the kitchen.

Yes, you can hear people's footsteps next door and muffled conversations, but this is a boutique place in a country setting, so some allowances for quality need to be taken into account. It's not going to be a 5 stars suite setting with complete privacy...If you want that, then you may have to pay for their premium accommodation the Vines Cottage, which is further up the hill.

We finally got to try the restaurant for dinner. It was lovely for the setting but can be better. Some of the meals were cold, dry or over seasoned, but despite that, its a pleasant place to go to but I wouldn't necessarily travel all the way back there for a meal, until they improve their quality.

I thoroughly enjoyed their lunch the last time I went to Silos, so the quality may be a hit and miss experience.

Overall, if you are still thinking over whether or not you should go to Silos, then take all of the above considerations into account. I really enjoy going there and would love to try their Vines Cottage next time.

Keep up the good work Silos! And your service is wonderful.
