Berrima Bakehouse Motel

If your after the Hilton this definately is not the place for you but we found the rooms to be very clean and comfortable and in keeping with the historic appeal of Berrima. The grounds are lovely and a pleasant spot to sit and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. A great spot to stay when travelling through the highlands.

we stayed in this motel overnight and we were very happy. there were 7 of us so we used two rooms and both rooms are perfect. Good value for money, the rooms were clean, the linens were fresh and there are no chargeable extras. there is an xpressi coffee machine for use in both rooms with 12 free coffee pods per room. the receptionist is very nice and polite, the place is quiet, ideal for relaxing weekend. the price is right, all around the area the prices of motels and cabins doubled because it is school holiday and christmas season and this is the only place that did not charge double. we will definitely come back.

We stayed here for one night. The rooms are quite basic but OK for a night. I wouldn't recommend for a longer stay. Owner friendly and helpful in recommending local restaurant. Furniture could do with replacing, a bit 60s in style!

The motel is everything you'd expect of a motel - if you're after 5 star then this isn't for you! The Bakehouse rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. It's opposite the pub where they serve good pub food and there are plenty of good cafe's for breakfast (we enjoyed the Courtyard Cafe). We used the motel as a base for visiting the local wineries and would definitely stay again. With friends we had three rooms and all couples only had positive feedback for the motel and the area, especially the wineries!

Room Tip: Rooms on the top floor probably better. Nearer the road but far enough away not to be disturbed.

We stayed at the Bakehouse for three nights and found it to be very clean and well equipped, providing tea / coffee making facilities (with fresh milk every day), fridge, toaster, iron, hairdyer,TV and free WiFi. On the slighly 'downside' the motel is in something of a 'time warp' in as much as the furniture, whilst being clean and functional, is a little 'distressed' in places and is probably the original. We found the manager friendly and informative. The motel is ideally located in the centre of the village within a very short stroll of all the restaurants and shops. The excellently stocked quilting shop is next door to the motel. (They provide a good range of newspapers to keep you occupied whilst the 'other half' spends your money!) With regard to value for money we stayed right at the end of the winter season and felt that is was just about 'value for money', whereas the prices for the summer season seemed a little excessive. Presumably given the popularity of Berrima they can get away with it. Would we stay again, probably, if for no other reason than to enjoy the restaurants and the superb setting of the village.

Room Tip: Rooms 1 to 3 are single storey.

It was a nice change to stay in a motel that was what it claimed to be, nothing more and nothing less. Our room was basic in it's nature, however it was wonderfully clean, a factor that in my opinion outweighs the age of the decor every time. The grounds are just beautiful, and the location is central to pubs, shops and cafes. We stayed on a Sunday night so dining options were limited in the village to the pub across the road, which offered over priced basic pub food served by staff who we found to be a touch stand offish. Breakfast the next morning on the other hand at the Bakery was delicious, the coffee was above par and was served with a friendly smile. Dinner aside, we were happy with our stay at the Bakehouse Motel, it was good value for money, and we will certainly be calling in again next time we are passing through.
