“Fine old building”
Review of Berrima Courthouse

Berrima Courthouse

Reviewed October 17, 2017

This historic building demonstrates fine workmanship from the mid nineteenth century. An interesting video tells the story of Berrima and this edifice. Then the "Sound and Light" is a recreation of a famous murder case trial which took place early in the courthouse's history. There are also artifacts and a souvenir shop.

Explored Berrima - thought the visit to the Courthouse was worth it - there is a good film to watch first and then the Light and Sound Show re-enacting a murder trial. the museum is also interesting. The architecture of the building is quite lovely and the curved doors were intriguing. Glad we called in

Watched re enactment and it was different to say the least. Be very glad we live in today's world where justice is (for the most part) fair. The place abounds with history towards the end some older school children arrived and they were "gobsmacked" to see how primitive those times really were. A valuable lesson all round. Well worth a visit.

We watched the re-enactment of a court case and it was a little creepy as the lights were off. A lot of history in this building and if only the walls could talk.

I have been passing through Berrima for 45 years and have stopped a couple of times, but never explored the town properly. So on this trip we did. The Court house is very informative and we learnt a lot about the area and past history. The building houses a mock up court room that tell of a murder case. Great for all ages
