“More variety, less speed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2013

In my youth a fish and chip shop sold just that; maybe with some pickled eggs and the like. Now there is a menu a mile wide, many items of which have no relationship to the sea at all. I feel that if Blue Wave offered less choice they may be able to deliver better service. The fish is fresh and good; the chips as tasteless as are all chips not cooked in the traditional medium of beef dripping. There is plenty of lemon and tartare sauce but Australian fish shops have no idea that fish and chips need malt vinegar not the white stuff they offer. Either way the delivery needs to be swift.

“Fantastic fish and chips!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2013

Absolutely beautiful fish and chips along the wharf. The batter was light and crispy and the calamari and fish were delicious! The ladies working there were all absolutely lovely and happy to chat.

It seemed to be one of the more popular restaurants along the wharf; it was a shame that there wasn't a larger seating area. Instead we took our fish and chip collection and sat on a park bench a little further along the wharf.

“Quite tasty!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2013

We went here twice during our stay in Bermagui. The first time was very crowded, and all the seating on the wharf was taken, so we took it back to a park further from the ocean, which was a bit of a disappointment. But it was very very tasty!
The second time we took it back to the beach house.
Both times the fish was delicious, the chips were good, the potato cakes were yummy, and the pumpkin cakes, which my sister enjoyed, were delicious too.
Great food, and very decent prices.
We also bought some fresh fish from here to take home to cook, and I would have to say, it was the best home-cooked fish I've ever had!
I definately recommend this place, but keep in mind, it can be busy during holiday periods and you may end up waiting in line for a good 20 minutes.

“Freshest Fish in Town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 17, 2013

The freshest fish I have ever had, with prawns, oysters, clams, squid and lot more..in fact over a 2 week period that is all we ate.
The fish and chips and pumpkin cakes are sensational. The staff and very friendly and accomodating especially when the place is packed to the rafters.
