“Top location and food”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

We've had the pleasure of eating at the Mimosa Winery Restaurant twice this year, and have been impressed on both occasions. The first was an anniversary lunch - just the 2 of us - the service was friendly and the food (paella for 2 and some excellent desserts) was most enjoyable.
On the second occasion we went with 54 other members of the Alliance Française de la Côte de Saphir for Bastille Day lunch. Glenn and Gail provided a French inspired menu with plenty of variety, and the food was up to everyone's expectations. We enjoyed a delicious bouillabaisse and canard à l'orange plus excellent poached pear desserts. Everyone commented very positively about the various dishes, and the ambience was warm, friendly and relaxed. Considering the number of people to be served, the kitchen and floor staff did a great job. Glenn and Gail were enthusiastic about our Bastille Day celebration, even providing some outstanding local entertainment and decorating the room. On both occasions we enjoyed a Mimosa rosé, but the wine list offers variety and quality.
All in all, we couldn't recommend this restaurant highly enough for an enjoyable, satisfying lunch experience in glorious surrounds.

“Spectacular view and excellent dining”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

It was a real surprise when we turned off the road in what is basically bushland and then ended up at this beautiful restaurant, with it's very professionally fitted out kitchen and very modern and spacious look which has been built near the top of a hill and takes such good advantage of the views. The balcony is open and has spectacular views down over the valley, with the vineyards and dam, and you can see some of the distant mountains (including Mt Dromedary or Gulaga) over the next few hills. We were really impressed with the selection of dishes, naturally they had a selection of their own wines as well as ones from further away, but I was very happy to have a glass of their Tempranillo 2009 with my eye fillet steak, and had a taste of my wife's delicious pumpkin and lentil soup. The serving staff were very professional and helped us choose a good wine to have with our meals. The downside was that we were there for lunch and we were tempted to look at the dessert menu, (and happily succumbed to the temptation), and so we left with quite satisfied appetites and had a nice siesta after we returned to Bermagui.

“A hidden gem”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

The Mimosa restaurant is on the Bermagui/Tathra Rd. about 10 minutes drive from Bermagui. As this is a very quiet road, this place is a bit off the beaten track, but well worth the drive. The location is stunning - the top of a hill overlooking other hills and valleys with a distant view of the sea, and the building is most attractive, with a rather Aztec style of architecture. I have eaten there four times now, and the food is consistently of a very high standard and the service impeccable without being intrusive. I have experienced many amazing dishes, but the one that stays most in my mind is their cheese souffle - melt in the mouth delicious with very delicate flavours.
As someone who lives in the Sapphire Coast, if we have special visitors, this is the restaurant we choose - in my mind the best one in the district.

“A rare treat”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

Every time we go to the South Coast, we have at least one meal at Mimosa Restaurant. It has never failed to impress us. The food is quite delightful - imaginative but not pretentious, beautifully presented and cooked. It is to the management's credit that they employ such good staff - no mean feat in a comparatively remote location in regional Australia. It is a treat not to be missed - long may it continue.

“Couldn't ask for anything better!”
Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

My partner and I just had our wedding here last Saturday. Gail, Glen & the entire team did a fantastic job, everything was perfect. Food exceeded expectations and service staff were professional and actually showed genuine commitment to makin sure everyone was looked after. My 89 year old grandfather was personally looked after by one outstanding young lady who made it her mission to ensure he was comfortable, feed and happy all night long. Gail and Glen where extremely fee unduly and flexable, nothing was too hard or too much trouble - just exactly what you want for a wedding! They did everthing they could to remove any stress or complications from our day. I couldn't recommend Mimosa high enough - if you're looking for a venue for your wedding - Mimosa must be at the top of your list!!
