“A Unique Experience with Educational Overtones”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

My wife and I take our puppy to Liliana's Cafe once a week and we have never stop enjoying our meals there. The atmosphere is very laid-back, and the service great. The menu is broken down into Breakfast (until 11am, I think) and Lunch sections so plan to be there for the menu session you want to enjoy. (Dinners not served)
We find the service to be very good and the food excellent. We even find enjoyable things to eat as Vegans because the chef is willing to customise his dishes for peculiar people like us.
Our dog is welcome to sit with us (at an outside table) and we find Liliana's a very pleasant way to follow up our fruit and veg shopping spree at the Bangalow Markets on a Saturday morning.

“Too cute!”
Reviewed March 9, 2013

We have been to Lilianas a few times now. We had a wonderful lunch there, but have to say that our favourite 'meal' is tea and cake! The pastry chef is simply incredible, and with such a nice location - certainly away from the crowds - it's the perfect place for some afternoon peace and quiet.

“Needs work”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

Special birthday weekend in Byron. Lunch at Liliana's. Arrived and were seated promptly, received menus and drinks. Our order was also taken promptly. Then the interminable - and unacceptable - wait. Fifty-five minutes after we ordered, we asked for bread to help us survive the delay. Grilled bread was delicious. Approximately ten minutes later, steak which had been ordered rare arrived medium but was of good favour. Snapper was over-cooked; the original chickpea sauce, reported to be unavailable halfway through our wait, was substituted with ratatouille which overpowered the delicate fish. Signature veal wrapped in prosciutto had probably seen the interior of two ovens in quick succession on high heat and was almost indelible, being somewhat akin to old shoe leather. Any notion of having one of the delicious-looking desserts we saw enroute to other tables had long since been abandoned. Note to potential customers: Be prepared for an extended wait, average service, and equally average food. Note to staff: When your customer must wait for more than half an hour, offer bread; most restaurants do.

“Delicious”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

This place is worth the drive: lovely food, good coffee, beautiful setting. The corn fritters with avocado and bacon were some of the best I've ever had. Reasonably priced for byron area too and with a good kids menu and kid friendly waiters.

Lilianas took many years to convert the old school house at Possum Creek.
The atmosphere is beautiful. Food always wonderful. Very fresh and local.
