“Nice surprise”

Driving from Eltham home we came across a sign for Lilianas cafe... So glad we took the detour.
Beautifully renovated old school house into beautiful cafe. Great Campos coffee, good food and service.
We will go back again, book this time so we get a spot on the deck.

“Exceptional!”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

Last Sunday, four of us ended up here by fate rather than design. How lucky we were! The cafe where we had intended having a coffee was closed so we chose Liliana's on the spur of the moment. We arrived there just before midday, without a reservation, to be told politely that they were fully booked.Three of our group work in the hospitality industry so we completely understood and were about to leave when the staff member asked where we were from. When she discovered that we'd travelled 50kms, she checked with management and they made room for us at a lovely table on the verandah, so we were impressed with the staff before we were even seated. The experience didn't disappoint. All the staff were knowledgable and unobtrusive. We ended up having 3 courses and at no time were we made to feel rushed. There was just the perfect spacing between courses to savour each one and to enjoy our wine.
All our choices were delicious- in fact it was hard to decide what to choose from the interesting menu. Meals that were being brought to other tables all looked wonderful as well!
The cafe has been tastefully decorated and is located in a lovely rural setting. Even the drive to get there was pleasant.
We will definitely return to this little charmer - with a reservation next time!
Kudos to all the staff.

“slow & not worth the wait”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

Location has great potential but most tables overlooked the carparks. Service very slow - waited at least an hour for our food. Hot day & we were served warm water without ice. Food is too creamy rich, would have appreciated some simple flavours.

Great setting in an old schoolhouse. Imaginative and interesting menu, well presented. Service was slow when we visited - we waited about an hour for a main meal.

“Great location but...”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

Amazing location in an old school house, but the decor was gold coast instyle, which is fine! But a little out of place in the Byron hills.
Food was very consistent, but our 2 flat whites where weak and overheated.
I would give it another go, and the drive from Byron is amazing.
