“Enjoyable stay”
Reviewed August 31, 2011

We found our stay at Ramada Suites very enjoyable. We only stayed for one night whilst passing through on our way to Queensland from NSW and found it nothing but pleasant. Only a short walk to shops and restaurants and lovely position on the river. The staff were helpful and the room was quite nice!

Overall a good hotel!

The hotel is situated on the riverfront and just around the corner from the main shopping precinct. There are many options for restaurants. Our room faced the river on the kitchen/lounge side and the pool and another river/town view on the bedroom side. We had a balcony with breakfast table facing the river, and could step onto another balcony from the bedroom. It was quiet in the room and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and attentive to service needs. When I have another holiday in Ballina I will be checking out the good value deals at this hotel.

My partner and I stayed in the Luxurious penthouse (601) for a Romantic Escape/business trip. The Penthouse was presented immaculately , virtually brand new, quiet and with peaceful views over the Ballina River.

The accommodation was outstanding, the food was first class and the service was excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Would Highly recommend.

Stayed just one night on our travel through NSW and unfortunately arrived just after 9 pm when the restaurant was closed. We were advised there was an Indian and fast food place still open close by but in the end we were too tired to find them. The room was really great with a separate kitchen/dining area and section off this a couch and tv area. The kitchen was very well equiped and the bathroom lovely, although no bath a very large walk in shower.
The views from our windows, which opened onto a large square balcony, was over the river and really lovely.
We had a great nights sleep even though there was a large wedding party in the hotel, we were not disturbed in the room at all.
The breakfast was made to order sitting outside overlooking the river and was the best we had had for a long time.
Highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during April. After having come from the Gold Coast Sofitel, it reminded me what you get in 5 star, that you miss out in lower star properties – service. The hotel itself is modern, new and in a beautiful location. Rooms are great. The first time we stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment, just beautiful with a perfect kitchen area and balcony. This time we stayed in a regular hotel style room, spacious with beautiful spa bathroom opening to the bathroom with shutters. Located right on the River with beautiful views. The pool area is great and gym ok, certainly no complaints!

When we first arrived in our room the bathroom spelt of vomit. Upon a call to reception, the head housekeeper was sent up, who claimed she couldn’t smell it and just sprayed air freshener around and in the drain. Didn’t help a lot, although fresh air did seem to help.

Although we had booked for 2 adults and a child, the pull out sofa bed had no linen and the room only had towels for 2.

We ate in the restaurant on both nights. The waitress was rather loud and inappropriate for a hotel of this level. She was obviously having a feud with a kitchen staff member in earshot and was speaking to another guest about “getting smashed” when she left.

The food was pretty good. On the final night, we were offered a dessert menu. After waiting for 15 minutes (with 2 couples in the restaurant), we decided to call it a night. When arriving back to our room, thought we’d just order dessert room service. It took 40 minutes for the dessert to be delivered. When it arrived I joked “I thought you’d forgotten”, we were told by the same staff waitress that she had! She said she wouldn’t charge us a delivery charge, interestingly, no delivery charge featured on the room service menu. It was a Faulty Towers experience!

Overall, the hotel was beautiful…. Shame about the staff/service!

My husband and I stayed here for one night in a suite-style room with balcony views over the river. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We ordered room service for dinner and the food was wonderful. The only downside is the noise from the doors and shared laundries as mentioned in other reviews.
