As other reviewers have stated, this motel is 1970 brick outside but well refurbished inside.

Highlights:
- great shower with hot water and excellent water pressure
- very nice toiletries
- clearly a caring ethos as the toiletries and biscuits supplied support Australian charities
- crisp, white linen on comfy beds
- plunger coffee and very well equipped kitchenette
- friendly manager
- shutters which are attractive unlike the usual hospital style curtains :)

Why four stars and not five?
The passing traffic is noisy and for light sleepers, intrusive. It's the only downside to this motel but not a deal breaker.

Oh and for those of us who are myopic, the tv is too far away for comfortable viewing. Bigger screen, maybe?

Overall we had a lovely stay and recommended it to our parents.

This place was excellent! We chose out of the phone book looking for a run of the mill motor inn around the $100 a night mark. Excellent and friendly hosts, nice relaxing setting and a pretty good location. Much more modern perks then we were expecting. Great sized rooms, good shower, kitchenette had heaps of extras like a sandwich toaster. If you are travelling through Ballina then stay here - you will not be disappointed!

Unpretentious in appearance from the street but this small motel is very well equipped and most comfortable. Extra fittings such as proper reading lights by the bed, a magnifying mirror in the bathroom make an overnight stay very enjoyable. The decor was pleasing and the Balinese setting by the pool was charming especially at nighttime. As another reviewer said ' an ideal stopover'.

I booked this motel on Tripadvisor reviews. Was not disappointed. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is nothing exceptional from the outside. But inside is a delight for a tired traveller. Deserves its four star rating. Nothing is overlooked, quality linen and towels, tasteful decoration, plenty of cutlery, crockery, toaster, frypan, microwave etc etc - all make for a comfy stay. So nice to be able to write a good review - so many other motels/hotels need to come for a visit here and see how it is done - all for $110. Well done.

Room Tip: We had room next to laundry - it had angles which made it more interesting, and we were very happy w...

Stayed here on our way back from the Sunshine Coast/Brisbane. With a slightly meandering drive coming home via Byron bay this was the perfect distance for us to stop.

I picked this motel based on price and tripadvisor ratings. I think I paid about $110 a night.

Certainly nothing to be disappointed with here. From the outside the motel doesn't look much: Inside the rooms however is a different story.

Modern furnishings, tastefully appointed. Functional and aesthetically pleasing. The owner has put in attention to detail very few motels bother with these days. basically she has put the customer first. bathroom is clean and modern.

It has Microwave oven, kitchen facilities, a range of cups/glasses/plates etc. An added touch is a decent filter coffee bag and hot chocolate to choose from, in addition to the standard fare. A round table to eat at, flat screen TV on the wall. Air con etc.

An excellent motel in every way.

Enjoy!

The outside is deceptive, although looking like a normal country Motel, the rooms are a complete surprise.Large beautifully furnished with many little touches you often do not get in a 5 star hotel.
We will be using this Motel again and would recommend it as an ideal stopover.

I travel for work (450+ motels in 4 years) and this would be the best motel I've stayed in. Not sure how old the property is (my first stay was in 2009) but the room is like new. The furnishings, fittings and appliances ALL look brand new. The rooms are not just your regular motel rooms - they are embellished with wonderful wall hangings, flowers, cushions and light/lamp fittings. The air conditioner is whisper quiet, large LCD TV on wall, a queen bed which was devine to sleep on, lovely sofa, white window shutters, microwave, sandwich maker, electric frypan, sink, special towels in the room for the pool, DVD and CD player, free internet..... it goes on and on.

My words cannot express the feeling you get when you walk into the room - extremely clean and welcoming - just like your at home.

The owner/operator is fantastic and must put in a lot of hard work to keep the motel the way it is.

Forgot to mention, the motel IS NOT on the highway like most in Ballina - it's in one of the back streets close to the shopping malls and has NO traffic noise.

When your next in Ballina you must give this motel a try - you will not be disappointed.

Price $110.00 - Another plus
