We have stayed here before and will definitely be back!!! This time we stayed in the premium room - the Vienna suite. I cannot put into words just how magnificent this room and the property is. From the abundance of genuine antiques strategically placed throughout, to the divine rear garden/courtyard or front balcony where you can just sit and enjoy a beautiful bottle of wine with any of the gourmet meals that come, prepared fresh, from Josh's kitchen. Vienna or Seafood Platter, Gourmet Pizza, Tapas Style Eastern European Feast and the most scrumptious home made Apple Strudel to name just a few of the delights available from the kitchen. I just have to mention the up-market Wine Bar, where you can select from a vast range of wines (mostly from the local premium wineries) and hand picked by wine buff Cynthia. The inclusions are just fantastic, with a decanter of Port waiting for you in your room on arrival and topped up daily. You will also get breakfast in the form of toast and condiments, a variety of juices and fresh coffee. Cynthia is the most passionate and magnificent host who makes you feel at home. Cynthia, and husband Ric (who works away maintaining the lovely house and grounds) make a formidable team and the love they have injected into developing their gem is obvious. They have situated themselves in the most handy of locations, with many many local attractions within an hours drive. Exploring the foothills and local mountains will keep you busy throughout the day if you like to be out and about. Personally, I could have just spent days relaxing in the Vienna Suite which boasts your own personal ensuite and many extras for added luxury but all of the rooms are just gorgeous. There is a Motel (which is also part of the Hotel) which is pet friendly. We will definitely stay here next time we come down with our dog. Whichever room you choose, you will still get the royal treatment. I cannot recommend a stay at Beaufort House more highly.

Room Tip: Select within your budget, but they are all magnificent!!!

I booked one of the smaller rooms and got upgraded to the Paris room. Each one of the rooms is tastefully decorated with real antiques and very comfortable beds - and a complimentary bottle of port in your room that I couldn't finish!
The hotel is located in the beautiful town of Adelong, near several attractions. The service is great and Cynthia make you feel very welcomed. And the restaurant is awesome too. I had the Austrian platter and it was delicious. I would definitely come back to try the Vienna room and spend more time in the courtyard.

I had a wonderful stay here, would have loved it to be longer! Such an amazing old world atmosphere. A glass of wine in the garden before an early dinner was the perfect way to round of a day of sightseeing in the area.

My husband & I stayed at Beaufort House for two nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I have to say that Cynthia is just amazing. She has so much energy and enthusiasm which ensures that every little detail is taken care of. We had the use of the lovely veranda to enjoy our breakfast and evening glass or two of port. We dined at the restaurant both nights and really loved the Austrian Platter for two. There is plenty to see and do in and around this little town especially in the warmer months!

When CUDO made the offer for two nights we looked at the website and it looked pretty good - but when we made our visit the website makes the place look much better tha it is. Shared bathrooms, one so small it was hard to turn around. We had the London room which had a queen bed - all the other fancy named rooms seemed to be double beds. We had a meal in the tavern area and that was good - gourmet pizzas and sweets were value for money. The 24 hour noise from the road with semi trailers running back and forwards was a not the peaceful place it was supposed to be. The veranda overlooked this road and it was like being under an aurport flight path - all talked stopped as these massive trucked rumbled past. It was probably worth what we paid, but will not be going back again.

Room Tip: If you are tall ask for the London Room (has a queen) - the Vienna has an ex-suite but pricy.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. It has been our endeavour to maintain this historic hotel completely original, and therefore the room sizes are as were built in the 1920's. This does differ for the modern dimensions of today's standards. To completely stay in alignment with the offerings of 'Yesteryear', all antiques, crystal ware and fully serviced environment, has been added to offer an experience with a difference, and are sorry to hear that this was not enjoyed as intended.
There is a curfew for Visy trucks from 10pm - 7am, therefore we acknowledge that traffic does recommence early morning which may be a little disruptive. Fortunately, although we are on the Snowy Mountains Highway and in a township, evening and night traffic is quite minimal.
We are glad to know that you enjoyed the pizzas and drinks in the wine bar and thank you again for your review.

Enjoyed a great weekend at Beaufort House, an authenic early 20th century hotel with much charm. Adelong is a small but interesting town with plenty of aussie history, a good base for exploring the snowy foothills. The room, while small, was clean and well furnished with antiques and period decoration, and the bed comfortable. The balcony overlooking the street was a great place to eat breakfast and meet fellow travellers, while the TV room, wine bar and restaurant were very appealing. Host Cynthia was very friendly and full of local knowledge, we will definitely visit Beaufort House again.
