Beaufort House is owned by an ex-corporate city chic who made the sea change to the country bringing with her a Wine Bar & her Viennese cuisine. Its country NSW but not so far off the highway that its all chickens & inbred’s. A great stay if you like long drives into the country, scenic landscapes & good wine. Probably not great for gang members or trophy wives

Aside from the themed European rooms, there are also motel rooms. The Amsterdam Room has direct access to the shared front balcony. No TV, Wi-Fi or private bathroom. Has heater, electric blankets & mini fridge. High ceilings, bathrobes & a decanter of Port wine to bribe guests. The walls are thin, the bed is squeaky & the wooden floors crack with each step, an absolute nightmare for honeymooners on a burgling spree. With these annoyances aside, the old world wine bar-open til late & Venetian menu make for an interesting night in the country.

Closer to Melbourne than Sydney, located in hilly country in the foothills of the Snowy mountains & around towns of Wagga, Batlow, Tumut & Gundagai it is well positioned for a nice day trip to explore the neighbouring townships. The slow-paced life will appeal to stressed-out city people who drink too much. Would probably return.

Room Tip: Speak to the hostess Cynthia, she is very accomidating.

We had a great stay at Beaufort House. The host Cynthia, is great and really does go out of her way to make sure guest's make the most of their stay. Food was amazing, coffee was brilliant and the rooms where warm and cozy. The area is also stunning and well worth exploring. The Sugar pine walk had to be one of the highlights of our trip so thanks to Cynthia for showing us where to find it. The local's are warm and friendly and the town also has a lovely 'top' pub. We will definitely be back.

Our stay at Beaufort House earlier this month was most enjoyable. The London Room was beautiful, the food great, and the atmosphere was warm with Cynthia very helpful. Adelong and surrounding towns (Batlow and Tumut) were beautiful with the autumn trees. Ray & Beth

We really enjoyed our stay at Beaufort House. The service was terrific, and attention to detail definitely rates a mention. Meeting other people on the verandah or in the lounge was a bonus, and being able to share meals and great conversation made the trip very enjoyable. Would thoroughly recommend staying here and enjoying all the region has to offer.

Room Tip: Rooms opening on the verandah can be noisy, but are certainly great for utilising the verandah for b...

Right from the start the personal touch is there with Cynthia greeting you at the door. From then on it is just a series of one relaxing experience to another. Drinking Port in the warm beautifully styled heritage rooms. Waking to breakfast on the balcony with homemade jams (the raspberry and cherry was my favourite) and organic coffee. Then on to the Wine Tour at Courabaya Vineyard where the personal touch continues with the most fantastic wines I have ever tasted! And just when you thought it wasn't possible to be any more relaxed, you are treated to the delights of the restaurant. Sitting in the warmth of the fire you are treated to a platter of Austrian delight and a well recommended Shiraz. Thank you for such an enjoyable stay, we both felt very much at home.

Room Tip: We chose the Paris room due to the Queen Size Bed, but the Venice Room would definitely be my choice...

Excellent accommodation with appointed furnishings and other historical decorations which all had an interesting history as conveyed to guests by our hostess, Cynthia. Facilites were all first class with clean and comfortable furniture and bedding. Totally enjoyed the meals especially the seafood platter. Would have also liked to enjoy the Austrian platter for 2. Fully enjoyed the company of other guests and the relaxed atmosphere whilst enjoying the complimentary carafe of port. The guest house served as a central base for daily tours of the surrounding country side. regards Vic & Mia

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side are quieter than the front rooms which face the street however are sunnier.
