“Not what we expected”
Reviewed August 23, 2010

Rustic apartment located in the basement of owner's home. Bedroom is small and dark fake wood panelling, one very small window. Bathroom is very small, kitchen was a good size, full size fridge was nice, sitting area with older furniture, fake wood panelling, one window. Found apartment to be dark with little air movement. However it was clean (including bedding). Being a basement, you hear footsteps from upstairs. Outdoor eating area was nice, great BBQ, gas element, toaster, microwave, lots of dishes, etc. Yard is somewhat overgrown, not very well maintained, alot of stuff everywhere. Maybe this is typical of the island, but it's just not as well maintained as what we were expecting. Lots of clutter and stuff everywhere.

When you drive up you see the most beautiful natural English garden setting with 3 gazebo's set up for outdoor dining complete with bbq, an outdoor kitchen with fridge, freezer, all all possible utensils and dishes needed. There are flowers everywhere in sight. The room is very private and beautifully decorated with dark wood furniture and brand new queen size bed, luxurious bedding and towels, private bathroom with shower and excellent lighting and mirrors for the ladies. There is a cherry wood stand with a glass basin for freshening up along with a bar fridge to keep your wine and beverages cold. The table and chairs inside the room allows you to eat your meals inside if you choose not to use the gazebos on the grounds beside the outdoor kitchen and bar, or in case of inclement weather. Everything in the room was spic and span clean as was the outdoor kitchen, bar, fridge, dishes and utensils.

The couple who own this adorable property are very accomodating, lovely people who aim to please. They provided anything we forgot to bring (our bowl to mix our ceasar salad for dinner) and they even lit the bbq for us so we could bbq our steaks for dinner. There were almost no mosquitoes until 8:15 at night and we sat under the gazebo after dinner enjoying drinks and chatting. There is also a fire pit if you wish to stay up late and chat next to the fire. After dinner, we had no clean up or dishes to do as the owners came and quickly wisked away all of our dishes. We had a picnic lunch packed for the next day and were offered the kitchen fridge to keep it from spoiling.

The price for this was unbelievable @ $75 per night and we had a choice of paying extra for breakfast or not. We chose not as we were headed to the beach the next morning and had packed a huge lunch. Coffee was brewed and waiting for us @ 8:00 a.m. the next morning at the outdoor kitchen/bar and we enjoyed coffee sitting outside in the gazebo in our pyjamas. If you wish a more private setting for morning coffee, there is coffee and tea making facilities in your room along with cream and sugar and your own private patio set just outside your door.

We will definately recommend this to anyone looking for homey, private accomodations and will gladly come back again next year.
