“Very comfortable and well thought out B&B”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

The owners (both successful designers) have got an eye for design, colour and fabrics. The rooms are elegantly designed and very comfortable. The en-suite was also excellent The dining and lounge area is comfortable and spacious with interesting design features. It is worth paying a bit more to stay here rather than elsewhere if you are looking for a bit more comfort.

The breakfasts were tasty and well-cooked. The owners are exceptionally friendly and helpful. They have also provided a well-stocked communal tea/coffee area (free N'Espresso machine and plenty of tea choices), which is a clever use of space and a generous gesture which signals the quality of service one can expect from the owners.

This immediate part of the Lizard is not as picturesque as other Cornish villages, so the B&B's immediate surroundings do not do it any favours (it's front facade faces the municipal green/car park). Fortunately, the owners have partly addressed this by creating a small green oasis that envelopes the house. Also, it is only a short walk to the gorgeous coast. Its location also means that parking is an absolute doddle (and there is plenty) - which counts for a lot when you compare it to other places we've stayed in Cornwall.

All in all, this B&B is very comfortable and ticks all of the boxes - highly recommended.

In August my boyfriend and myself took a well-deserved short break to Cornwall and stayed at the charming Chapel House B&B in Lizard. It offered a very stylish and inviting environment and the interior and quirky art work had me green with envy, and wanting to recreate the same look at home! Chapel House is such a gorgeous place to stay, so cosy and relaxing. With the most comfortable bed made even more inviting with luxurious linens. We felt right at home as soon as we arrived and while outside the village is buzzing it's very peaceful and tranquil once you're inside. Giving you the best of both worlds. We did lots of walking round the beautiful coastline each day, after a very received cooked breakfast! The homemade baked beans are amazing! If there is one thing you do in Lizard it should be to check into the Chapel just to experience the breakfasts! What Lizard needs is a restaurant with Chapel House hosts Mark and Katie at the helm offering their cooking talents! It was so nice to return to Chapel House to relax after a fun day of walking and eating! Wish we could have stayed for longer. Will certainly be going back.

This is a really stylish and relaxing place to rest your head. Quiet and cosy, comfortable and luxurious, the Chapel House offered everything we wanted. It's well-located, overlooking a grassed square at the heart of the village. It's well-appointed, with good linens, beautiful furniture and unusual art. And, as others have mentioned, the breakfast is a triumph. The owners are very hospitable and you are made to feel at home without ever feeling that you are in somebody's home.

What a fabulous place to stay! I booked a room as a surprise for my other half on our anniversary. What made Chapel House so different from any of the other B&Bs we have stayed in was all the little touches. We arrived to a bottle of bubbly, two champagne flutes and a hand written card wishing us a happy anniversary, something we will never forget.

Not only is the building itself beautiful, and the rooms exceptionally high-quality, Katie and Mark are such warm, welcoming hosts that you feel instantly relaxed. The food, too, is delicious. As vegetarians it's sometimes difficult to find B&Bs which try new and interesting food, but the breakfast was original, beautifully cooked and there was so much choice!

We would not hesitate to recommend Chapel House as a superb getaway!

Room Tip: We stayed in the room with the stunning freestanding bath but ALL of the rooms look amazing.

Just spent a night at the Chapel House B&B at the Lizard, Cornwall. Katie and Mark have done an amazing job converting the old Chapel into a House full of charm and character. The room was excellent although its worth noting there is no television for those who cannot do without the box.
Breakfast was great with quality ingredients. Even had homemade baked beans which shows the effort put in. Should be top of your list if thinking of staying at the Lizard.
Paul & Sarah. Many thanks again for transporting our forgotten stuff to our next destination. It was much appreciated.

We recently had a week at Chapel House and I can honestly say it is at the top of our best B & B list. The food is superb, the bed is wonderful and the bathroom is the best. Its the first season for Katie and Mark in this refurbished Chapel and what a brilliant job they have done. Its a really comfy, homely and relaxing place to visit. The location is also very good as it is in the centre of the village with shops and walks right on the doorstep. Car parking is not a problem also. Overall summing up 5* plus what more can I say.

Chapel House is a little gem in the heart of The Lizard village! This is their first opening season, hence not alot of reviews available online, I braved the decision to go ahead and book 2 nights at the Chapel House for a long weekend. Chapel House at The Lizard is decorated to the highest standard, combining both style and comfort, everyday we looked forward to going back to the house after each coastal walk. The Owners Katie and Mark are friendly and easy to talk to, we felt like we had been friends for years pretty quickly. Provided it was the first time at The Lizard, their local knowledge added tremendous value to our stay.

Not only will I miss that spacious and beautifully decorated room we have stayed in, but also Mark's signature "The Full Cornish" breakfast. Being a foodie myself, I would go as far to say that the breakfast at Chapel House can easily beat some of these high-end London cafes full english breakfast hands down. They use high quality organic produce, and Mark's homemade smoky baked beans were the one thing not to be missed!

We had an amazing time visiting The Lizard, we look forward to many more visits to this beautiful spot of England, but not only for the amazing coastal scenery but also an excuse to stay at Chapel House again!

Room Tip: Katie has shown us all the rooms and they are all amazingly decorated! However, there's a family...
