Stayed here last week and we were blessed with a fantastic four full days of hot hot hot sun! The location of this house is unrivaled virtually anywhere in the UK I would suggest, it is truly breathtaking. It almost sits on the beach. And what a beach! I admit we were blessed weather wise, but the seclusion, privacy and beauty of the beach will be very hard to beat. It felt almost like a private beach, even in the sun and during half term, with just a handful of people. Absolutely spoiling. Unbeatable if you love off the beaten track tranquility and seclusion. But secluded and stunningly beautiful too. The pictures and the website don't do this justice. You simply have to visit to see what I mean.
Likewise Carla and John are superb hosts, welcoming, friendly, funny, generous, interesting, all accommodating, nothing seems too much trouble. Yet though you share the house with them, as their home, they are intrusive, there when you need them to be, not over your shoulder when you don't. A tough balance that I felt was just right, an example to all. Couldn't have asked for better.
We stayed in the Ocean Breeze Room, which is really lovely with a very big bath room its fabulous. . No expense spared, a real touch of luxury. The Ocean Breeze is simply a joy the views over the sea from your bed, its an absolute pleasure to see. The room is spacious but the sound of the sea, sense of space, air and light literally on your doorstep I simply loved it!!
Breakfast was on the terrace in the sun, a lovely touch, and the food was beautifully presented and always seemed lovingly prepared. There was a very personal touch here.
We visited the nearby, Halzephron Inn (also a Sawdays entry), Food here was nice, the atmosphere inviting, and the sunset a dream. (Though not inexpensive).
Overall this place is exquisite. The hosts are a joy to meet. I couldn't fault it for us, it was everything I'd hoped for and then some. I would absolutely totally recommend it to anyone, who loves tranquility, privacy a touch of luxury and fun! I will without doubt look forward to another visit. An absolute gem of a place and a stay. Extraordinarily romantic, with a touch of class and a definite sprinkling of luxury. Unbeatable value for money.

What an extraordinary stay! What a view! What a breakfast! What charming and interesting host. It is the standard of a 4 + hotel. I can highly recommend this wonderful place and it is the perfect place to stay and rest. And the sea view from all 3 rooms is amazing!! Will be back soon!

Room Tip: all rooms! sea view! quiet!

We had a wonderful stay in Bay House last weekend. John and Carla made us feel so welcome and really went out there way. The location is fabulous with the house positioned right by the sea and you can access the coastal paths which are breath taking by the gate at the bottom of the garden. John and Carla recommended some great places to visit and eat while we were there and even went so far as to drop us off and pick us up from a local restaurant. We had an amazing weekend where we stayed in a B&B which was furnished and decorated to exceptionally high standards.

Thank you Carla and John for making our weekend special.

Our first impression was "WOW". We stayed in the Atlantic room and enjoyed every single minute. It was the most relaxing weekend we had.
The warm welcome from Carla and John, the stunning views from our room, breakfast room and garden. The whole house is full of passion in every detail. We will definitely come again!

This is by far the best B&B I have ever experienced. The room is so wonderfully decorated and the view looking out need not to say is striking. The view of the Atlantic Ocean, the stars at night, the light tower all are so memorable. The breakfast makes it perfect and special thanks to out host, they make us feels like home but yet provide the privacy. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Must give a try to Atlantic Room, superb view and home styled decoration.

My wife and I have tasted the quality of the Wolsey Lodge hospitality before; so we were confident to book our three night stay at Bay House overlooking The Lizard, Cornwall, England's most southerly point.
Carla and John greeted us warmly and showed us to our room, The Atlantic. Well named since our bay window gave us superb views of Housel Bay and the Lizard lighthouse. Every comfort was provided in our beautifully furnished bedroom - with luxury en suite wet-room. There was a gorgeous summer house again with excellent sea views for shade and relaxation; or for sun-worshippers, a glorious terrace with cushioned armchairs.
Cliffs walks invite as the coastal path is simply through the back garden gate. And while there are multiple choices for eating out don't miss Ann's amazing pasties just down the road.
We would recommend John and Carla's home warmly without reservation. But don't all book in or we may not be able to make our promised return visit.

Wow!!. We decided to go right upmarket for this special anniversary and we could not have aimed any higher. The location cannot be beaten for views with a panorama from the bay windows of the Atlantic Room taking in The Lizard lighthouse and the ocean with very large ships passing close offshore.
The room itself is large with two very comfy chairs positioned in the window and yet another two back in the room for reading or viewing the multiple electronic devices provided along with a varied and interesting selection of books and CD's.
All of the fixtures and fittings are absolutely top drawer, the bed (two twins adjoined) very large, individually adjustable and comfortable with a single crisp white linen double duvet.
The en-suite is out of this world having a wet room with a power shower delivering the largest amount of water I've ever experienced, Molton Brown toiletries, and pretty well everything a very discerning lady could require and all of the highest quality.
Adjacent to the room is a small refrigerator to keep your bottles cool which also holds a selection of wine which can be purchased should you forget your own.
The hosts, John, who does most of the cooking, and Carla, are a delightful couple and offered any and all the information requested without being overbearing.
A Cornish cream tea, with scones made by Carla, was delightful on arrival.
The breakfast room is downstairs with a fabulous view out to sea and the breakfast, cooked to order by John, is more than adequate with home made bread and a wide and varied selection of cereals and condiments, many home made.
Even in March the local area had many restaurants which were open albeit not on every single day but we managed to indulge ourselves and eat well without travelling too far.
We stayed for four nights and the only bad thing I can find to say about this place is that on the third day of our stay the weather was overcast whereas the other three were hot, cloudless and sunny.
Having stayed in B&B's throughout the UK and Europe I can say with absolutely certainty that this is one of the very, very best and, although rather expensive the quality of evrything about it more than justifies the price.
Just in case you don't believe the above we had never heard of this place until we picked it from the Alastair Sawday site as a special offer and decide to go as far south as possible in the hope of getting better March weather and that turned up in spades.

Room Tip: There cannot be a better located room than the Atlantic Room at Bay House - the view is really out o...
