Food very good value. Atmosphere excellent - a proper old-fashioned pub with regulars at the bar. Staff welcoming. As a woman eating out alone, I felt very comfortable and at ease.

We visited over new year but have also been during the summer. Food is always lovely and staff very friendly. Would recommend a visit to anyone.

We happened to go on a Tuesday night ,which turned out to be "Special Meal Deal Night" which was a Sirloin Steak dinner for 2 with a shared bottle of wine and side dishes. All well cooked ,served with a smile, tasty and good value. The atmosphere was cosy and very Cornish !
So we returned on Wednesday night, there's not much else to choose from in The Lizard, only to be very disappointed with the fresh fish options which all seemed to be deep fried in breadcrumbs. Slack service ,library atmosphere and not cheap.
Be sure to choose your day .

We stay in Lizard every year at Caernarvon Cottage and are never disappointed with the Witchball! Its has a recent change of management, but this doesn't seem to have reduced the quality of the experience. The Chough brewery ale, brewed a couple of miles away, is always excellent - both Raven (a dark beer) and Crabber (light bitter). The staff are polite and friendly! The food is good - my wife and I experienced the Voodoo burger - phew, be warned, not for the faint hearted - we loved it! On a sunny day the seating outside is really good - the sharing seafood salad and watch the world go by - fantastic - a definite recommendation from us!

We went for the 'steak special'. The restaurant wasn't too busy but we waited ages for our three courses, from sitting down at 7.30 pm it took just over 2 hours.
I asked for well done steak and by definition I expect it to be thoroughly cooked without blood, but it was charred. Pricey food for the quality served up.
The staff were very pleasant, but service was very very slow!
