“peaceful and pretty , food overpriced but a good holiday!!”
Reviewed January 5, 2011

we stayed at st minver back in september 2010 we stayed in a ceder lodge and i travelled with my brothers family and my mum and dad we had 3 different lodges , as we drove up the drive it felt like a country park it was surrounded my trees and i could see caravans and chalets to one side and a all the lodges were in there own part with a electronic coded barrier to get in and out we had a code for our part and it was gorgous all the lodges were set around a ornate pond with a pretty fountain there wasnt a view but each lodge had its own car parking space for at least 2 cars the lodge it self was well equipted and we had a issue with a toaster which they came and replaced with a brand new one they have separate utility rooms with washer dryers , and another seperate entrance leading into utility room incase of muddy boots!! they had nice furniture on the veranda ours was a older lodge than my families and was a little tired the bed wasnt very comfy and there was a funny smell in my en suite but the showers were amazing power showers !! i would defo book again the pub was quite a walk to get to up a steep hill so we drove up the little soft play room was lovely although small it was really clean and my 2 and a half year old had it to herself most days they have a huge outdoor wooden play area too and a pool a little tired but they enjoyed it although we found the water a little cold and the life guards were messing about and eating crisps !!! they did a kids play hour in the evening which was nice they got toys and colouring out while they had music and disco lights on my little one loved it the pub did lack atmosphere and the food was well overpriced!! as was the shop!! we went down the road to a 2 for £10 pub that was good and a had a kids play area too , overall it was a great holiday would go back !!!!

We stayed here for 4 nights as part of a Sun newspaper holiday deal in early September. We were allocated a 6 berth static caravan for 4 people.

The site is set in woodland and appeared well maintained. We were pleasantly impressed with the accommodation that was provided and expected a lower grade/older caravan given we were on a Sun deal. The caravan appeared new and very well equipped. There were 3 bedrooms - one double and two x2 singles (there was also a double in the seating area ). The single beds were ‘fishfinger’ beds and not really suitable for a larger adult who would struggle to sleep in them. The caravan was sited in an area where the other vans looked as if they were privately owned and well looked after.

As we visited during the school term the site appeared very quiet. We didn’t make full use of the site facilities, but there is an indoor pool and children’s entertainment area, as well as a woodland educational cabin. We did visit the bar and entertainment area one night and the drinks were reasonably priced.

The site is close to Rock and not too far from other tourist attractions, such as Padstow, Port Isaac and Tintagel. We Would definitely visit again and would highly recommend.

This was our 1st time in Cornwall, St Minver holiday park is great, our caravan was clean and big, no complaints at all and centrally heated for the colder nights. Set in a countryside setting in a lovely woodland which is lovely and very relaxing and peaceful. Swimming pool was good, and all the staff friendly and helpful. costcutter on site, which is well stocked but bit expensive if you did a food shop there, which is the same as all site shops.

The entertainment was good, but we didn't go every night because gets a bit repetitive. You will need a car to get about though, we went expoloring the area every day, about a mile to nearest good beaches. Polzeath, Daymar, Rock. Padstow, and Boscastle are great, and for younger kids with you, the Springfields pony sanctuary is worth a day out, lots to do there about a 40min drive. KIds love it.

Dont go expecting loads of shops and a big town, cus it's not. there is Wadebridge small market town nearby and a big Tesco there which is good. Swimming pool was good, and all the staff friendly and helpful. The entertainment was good, but we didn't go every night because gets a bit repetitive. Restaurant in the manor at the top of park aswell which is good.

After reading previous reviews I was very concerned about the holiday we had booked, however when we arrived my husband and I and dog we were pleasantly surprised, the chalet had been refurbished and was very clean, slight smell of damp but hardly noticeable, the swimming pool and changing area were all clean and newly refurbed.Ideal location, small evening clubhouse ideal with families with small children. We had a great week

Couldn't fault the location for exploring this area of Cornwall and we were blessed with good weather but the caravan we were allocated on arrival had previously had very heavy smokers in which we rejected based on the fact that we are non-smokers travelling with very small children. The second caravan offered was very cramped and although we were told that there had been animals in it, only started to smell very heavily of dogs after the eight concealed air fresheners ran out on day 2 and it was quite dirty. Having said all this don't let it put you off St Minver Holiday Park as the location is good for the various beaches etc, but pay the extra for a lodge as they looked superb - very new and nicely situated within landscaped area. The caravans on the site all looked very well used. We are used to going to bigger sites that clearly replace their older style caravans more regularly so this was the main disappointment.

The Park is well located, especially for Rock beach and Padstow with nowhere in Cornwall seemingly more than 40 minutes away. It's a pretty spot with no real views but a pleasent 'woodland' setting.

We stayed in a Cherry Chalet and to be honest, when we pulled up, it looked like something off the great escape. Opening the door was not much better and you are hit with a definate 'pong' however you get used to it and only notice it when you come and go. I cannot see how the employees have missed this and over a season I'd have thought the use of airfreshners would help. The Chalet was however clean (it wasn't that type of pong), and the kitchen needs singling out for equiptment and practicality - especially against a caravan. Bathrooms have a bath - another plus however the toilet is right against the wall, anyone overweight may struggle to use it. The beds were ok, but they are effectively metal framed camp beds. Walls are thin but our neighbours were quiet. Parkdean have opted for the most basic of digital TV's and this needed to be turned off for 5 minutes to rest after it lost its picture and they are too small for the room. Parking was tricky as no spaces are designated or marked - you rely on everyone parking efficiently to get a space or you may have a short walk to your own front door. I have asked the staff to consider at least marking out some bay's.

Eating out options include takeaways in Wadebridge and a great chippy in Rock - just down the road. I'd opt for these over the clubhouse. The Fourways Inn can be accessed by path (genuine 2 minute walk) and is a quality pub for your evening pint or a proper pub meal, a great alternative to the onsite option.

Given the low cost and holiday experience its average accomodation in a great location.
