“Wow”
Reviewed July 18, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Honestly, we have travelled the world and this is up there with the best.
A dog friendly haven, I can't recall a more tranquil and peaceful setting.
The location and the cottage are stunning.
The decor and furnishings are of a quality very seldom found in a pet friendly holiday let. Easily the best holiday cottage in Cornwall, by far. We are definately re booking for next year. Roll on Next May.

“Perfect...Special place to stay in Cornwall!”
Reviewed May 9, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We wanted a place that was hidden away, peaceful, surrounded by walks and wildlife but was still well located to explore Cornwall. This place excelled at this! Firstly Jill & Laurel are lovely people, making you feel very welcome and very easy to chat with, yet they give you total privacy and leave you to your stay.
The cottage is a special place, done to a wonderful standard, log burning fire, great stand alone bath, lovely views and private gardens, with lovely walks along the stream, ideal if you have a dog too! Such a comfortable and relaxing place to come back to after a day out and about. Would definitely stay here on another visit to Cornwall! Few Tips...Worth a walk down the river to St Erth (about 15mins) nice pub for food and a drink (Let dogs in too) locals all very friendly. Use St Erth train station for going into St Ives, so cheap to park and takes 10mins and saves the hassle of parking and driving through St Ives. And finally, make sure you meet the crazy old English sheep dog that sits outside another cottage and chases your car down the lane to your cottage...never got tired of it and made us laugh everytime! :)

“A real Cornish gem”
Reviewed November 12, 2016 for a stay in November 2016

From the moment we arrived we knew this was going to be a special place. Our hosts, Jill and Laurel made us (and our dogs) feel very welcome, while totally respecting our privacy. The cottage itself is everything you would expect and more for a relaxing break. The photos do not do it justice. Lovely large kitchen. Super cosy sitting room and wood burner. The very big bath in the bedroom was amazing.
When you turn out the lights it is peaceful and dark with just the sounds of the stream and the local owls.
The back garden is securely fenced which takes the worry of the dogs wondering off.
If you want to get away, walk on the many beautiful local beaches, enjoy the delicious local produce in total seclusion. You will fall in love with River Cottage. Being Danish, the best way for me to describe our stay is 'hygge'

“Perfection”
Reviewed August 27, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We have just returned from our Cornish holiday. There is only one word to describe this cottage and that is perfect. The cottage just looks beautiful outside and it's features inside are unique. For two this property is spacious and very comfortable. The land surrounding and the nearby walks were fab for our springer. Brilliantly situated to local amenities. The property was fully equipped and we couldn't think of a way of making the retreat any more wonderful. Jill and Laurel are so welcoming and kind. Their two dogs are lovely and friendly. We can't wait to book again. We can't thank you enough!

“A truly special place..”
Reviewed August 12, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We have just returned from a week at this incredible location.
It's usually very hard to find dog friendly accommodation with a touch of luxury, but it's achieved here by the bucketload!

Laurel and Jill (who are wonderfully friendly people, by the way) have restored this place with such creativity and inventiveness. There is a rustic Cornish edge with hints of chic vintage and clean modern touches.
The cottage is also very well equipped. The bedroom has a beautiful claw foot tub and the morning sun streams in through the garden windows. The living area is packed full of art and design books and a fantastic selection of DVDs. The open plan kitchen has everything you need to cook up a storm whilst grooving to the DAB radio!
Tranquil gardens bordered by swaying willow, with the sounds of the gently trickling river, insects buzzing and owls hooting at night. There are lovely walks in every direction.

Location wise, it's approximately a 15-20 min drive to North and South beaches /amenities.

Not forgetting to mention our dog, who also had a brilliant time playing with Bob and Paddy (the resident black lab's)!

River cottage is the perfect escape.

We will be back!

“Truly stunning cottage! Beautiful countryside, peaceful getaway!”
Reviewed April 29, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Saw the pictures online and thought it looked good, but it was even better in person. We wanted a quiet and peaceful getaway and it was exactly that. It is our dream cottage. Tastefully appointed with everything needed. Great kitchen, warm radiators, wood stove for a cozy night/s in, comfortable bed, stunning views out every window, wifi, loads of dvd's and good books. The acoustics in the cottage are wonderful. We both play acoustic guitar and we will be going back to have some fun with recording in the future. Plentiful beautiful walks from the front/back doors. It was by far the best holiday cottage we have every rented. We had planned on eating out while there, but after seeing the cottage bought groceries and stayed in to enjoy the home away from home aspect. Can't wait to next year! The couple who own it are lovely and very helpful! I know my rating is great across the board but it truly was.
