A marvellous B & B which was immaculately clean, and served superb breakfasts based on local produce. The hosts (Clive and Julie) went out of their way to make you feel welcome. The B & B is based in a lovely rural location and is just the ticket for chilling out.

This was our 5th visit to Julie and Clive's home. It's such a shame we live 288 miles away otherwise we'd be there on a more frequent basis. If I write too much about the mouth-watering breakfasts and the difficulty in choosing between the many outstanding dishes (as well as Julie's muesli which I start anticipating a week before our stay), the beautiful wild garden, the jay and the woodpecker we saw on the bird feeder during our breakfast, the super views from the best bedroom (the garden room), the welcome from Bridie their dog and Clive's always correct meteorological forecasts there may not be any spaces left on the calendar for our next visit.
If you are in Cornwall a stay in Redgate Smithy is a must!

Room Tip: The garden room. the view of the garden is superb.

A most enjoyable time. Fabulous accomodation in a most beautiful spot. Clive and Julie (and Bridie) went out of their way to make us feel very welcome. The breakfasts were excellent ,the room was sunny and inviting, a very comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and lots of information available on the local area and Cornwall. We highly recommend this place.

Another few days spent at Redgate Smithy with our 2 dogs and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Extremely friendly and helpful hosts, spotlessly clean and very comfortable room. The breakfast is wonderful :-) Only just back, but looking forward to our next stay already.

Just went for a Saturday night stay but had a warm & enthusiastic welcome from the owners. We were going to a gig at Carnglaze Caverns which was a mere 15 minute drive away. I also noted that the attraction that is Golitha Falls is walkable (About 10 mins.) for anyone wanting to visit the attraction.
Breakfast was cooked to order with plenty of options (Full English) and hot and tasty when it arrived.
Would thoroughly recommend a stay if you are planning to stay in this part of Cornwall.

Spent the August bank holiday weekend at Redgate Smithy with my border collie, Max, and we both had a lovely break. To be honest, St Cleer was further south than I had wanted to travel, but the website for Redgate Smithy really sold it to me and I wanted somewhere where I would feel comfortable with Max and his "doggy" ways! They didn't disappoint!
The hosts made us both feel very welcome and gave great advice on places to visit and places to eat - all of which were dog friendly. These extra touches made our stay all the more enjoyable.
The room was very pleasant and very clean. Great little tea making facilities (with biscuits) and even a blanket, bowl and treat for Max.
Good walking straight from the front door (Golitha Falls just down the road), and just a short car drive to Minions and Bodmin Moor and beaches.
Oh, and a cooked breakfast to die for!
We will definitely be back!!!

A lovely country cottage retreat. Perfect location for exploring Bodmin Moor and Golitha Falls. Hosts were very friendly. Room was spotless. Good breakfast. Our dog Milly enjoyed exploring the lovely garden and playing with a fellow doggy guests. Would recommend to anyone and will return.
