By far the best B&B we have ever stayed in and so glad that we were booked in for seven nights. Having driven from North Yorkshire we were greeted with a very welcome cup of tea and homemade cake and things just got better. We were shown to a room with every convenience you could think of, from a jar of peanuts and a tray of fruit and biscuits to a handheld mirror - just what we women need. Attention to detail is certainly top priority for Steve and Jane and is reflected in the very high standards of cleanliness and comfort throughout the house. Breakfasts were a dream, with delicious choices on offer and the breakfasts cooked by Jane kept us going all day. Steve's knowledge of the places to visit and trips to make in Cornwall is very impressive and he helped us plan our days out and recommended and booked restaurants for our evenings out. Steve and Jane are certainly dedicated to making sure that guests have a truly enjoyable stay and we have no hesitation in recommending Anchorage House to anyone. Indeed, having visited most of the tourist attractions in the area, we consider the highlight of our holiday was our B&B and would urge those responsible for awarding "stars" to recognise this by adding a sixth.

My Parents ,My Husband and I Stayed here for 3 nights from 7th June. Where to start , Steve and Jane are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. When Steve showed us our room which was called [ Stunning ] I started to cry with tears of joy , A room that lived up to it's name . My parents stayed in the Desirable room another room that was fantastic.Breakfast was great .The pool is to die for.. I could go on and on ,we will be returning to Anchorage House very soon. There is a very nice pub only 200 yrds away that does food, but do ask Steve and Jane for places to eat and they will tell you some great eats.

Room Tip: if you like late nights out ,I would say go for the Desirable room ,as it is not attached to the hou...

My Wife and I enjoyed a 2 night stay at Anchorage House in June. The greeting we received from Steve & Jane was wonderful and welcoming. They couldn't do enough for you. This was our 1st Wedding Anniversary which was made extra special by coming back to our room where they had dressed the bed with a rose petal heart and chocolates. We stayed in the Charming Room which is definitely Charming, the freestanding bath is to die for! Having the facility of a pool is an extra bonus. If you want to stay somewhere which gives that extra special personal feeling and luxury you want to stay here. Looking forward to going back next year (maybe sooner). Thanks again Steve & Jane.

My husband and I enjoyed a 3 night stay at Anchorage House on the first May bank holiday weekend. We booked into the Sensational Suite, and it certainly lived up to it's name. Spacious, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and comfortably - based on 2 floors, it's luxury at it's finest! We enjoyed a swim before breakfast each morning, with sun streaming in through the windows of the indoor pool. Jane & Steve are excellent hosts, knowledgable about the local area, happy to recommend places to visit and eat and really do go that extra mile to make your stay special, with extra little touches like homemade cake on arrival and homemade biscuits each day in the room. And the breakfasts are amazing - can certainly recommend the smoked salmon & scrambled egg on brioche (my husband's favourite) and french toast & crispy bacon with maple syrup (my fave!). This is a gem of a place to stay, perfect for trips to the Eden Project and Heligan and lots more to visit locally as well. Our first stay at Anchorage House, and it most definately won't be our last!

Room Tip: It's a quiet area, so you'll have a good night's sleep whichever room you choose. If yo...

We stayed for one night and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The welcome we received was warm and engaging. On being shown to our room, we were immediately impressed with the space available in the bedroom and in the en suite bathroom. Both rooms were furnished in a very attractive, almost sumptuous style, with tasteful decorations and very comfortable furniture. The double bed was literally a King size. We had pre booked a supper and we were very glad we had - the "supper" was delicioius, beautifully presented and very tasty, accompanied by warm home made bread. Our overnight stay was very restful and we lacked nothing in the way of side items, either toiletries of snacks and beverage makings including real fresh milk. The breakfast the following morning was wonderful - truly generous portions of anything we wanted. Again, our hosts were very attentive as we departed, helping us with luggage and directing us onto the main road. We wanted for nothing and we saw for ourselves why Anchorage House has won so many awards for their standards of excellence.
In all, we were

This is the second time we have stayed at Anchorage house and it was fantastic. Steve and Jane are wonderful hosts who take excellent care of guests from the first minute they walk in the door. Everywhere is spotless and beautifully decorated, the breakfasts are amazing with loads to choose from and the bedrooms........how do you choose? They are gorgeous and soooo comfortable. I have arthritis and was especially pleased that the mattress had two different comfort zones (soft for me please!) The pool is smashing just right for a morning 'float' or you could go mad and swim if you felt so inclined!!
We shall go back to Anchorage as it is such a lovely experience. If you want to be well looked after in a little bit of luxury this is the place to go.

Room Tip: I couldn't choose. Last time we came we had the most expensive room so his time we chose the che...
