“A Warm Welcoming & Beautiful Place To Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 25, 2012

This is a wonderful place to stay, we were welcomed on arrival with home-made fresh lemon cake and tea and we were then shown around. We stayed in the Desirable Suite which is seperate to the main building and this room is very big and well dressed. Steve and Jane are more than happy to go that extra mile and their recommendations for eating out were spot on. They also take care of the booking of tables should you wish them to do so. In the mornings the breakfast options are vast from home-made compote's to full English breakfasts all cooked fresh and to your liking. Overall we had a wonderful holiday but Steve, Jane and Anchorage house made it that bit more special.

Room Tip: All the rooms seem to be unique, I advise you to visit the Anchorage house website and read all abou...

We stayed two nights at Anchorage House. Jane and Steve were more than polite and made us feel absolutely comfortable and relaxed. The facilities are great and both Jane and Steve have worked hard to achieve such high standards and offer an amazing environment in the country. The room we stayed "Desirable" had a huge bed, a lot of space and it was greatly decorated. it was kept very clean all the time we stayed there. I would absolutely recommend Anchorage House and i am already considering to visit it again in the near future.

Hint: Jane's cooking skills are beyond perfection!!!!

We spent two nights at Anchorage House. Beautiful house, warm, homely, delightful hosts, Jane and Steve make you feel like one of the family. The pool and gym area great. Delicious food, spotlessly clean, a totally relaxed stay is guaranteed. Nothing is too much trouble and restaurants bookings made as needed etc. An absolute must to visit again.

Room Tip: The house is fairly secluded, windows double glazed so expect all are quiet. All very tasteful.

We stayed 2 nights and would definitely recommend it. Jane and Steve have clearly worked very hard to achieve such high standards and make every effort to make you feel as comfortable as possible.
We stayed in the "Stunning" room which has a huge bed, loads of space and lots of little extras, including a fridge. It is warm, bright and airy with nice views when sitting in bed enjoying your morning tea. The bathroom has a great power shower and lovely big double ended bath in which we relaxed with a glass of fizz......why not when you are on holiday?
The house is lovely with a large lounge area, a lovely airy conservatory for breakfast, a separate conservatory and of course the pool area. There is lots of info on the area to hand including
several books with walks local walks which Steve photocopied for us so we could go off trekking.
Breakfast was 1st rate. Freshly squeezed orange juice, delicious fruit and cereal selection and full English cooked to perfection. We thought the portions where perfect, this is only so much you can eat! Yes you only get 1 slice of toast but we were always offered more - and never wanted it. I liked the fact there was no wastage, it so unnecessary.
Jane and Steve were perfect hosts. Very friendly but not in your face. Happy to make reservations and book taxis. We felt very looked after.
We shall recommend you profusely and will definitely come back in the future.
Many thanks for making our stay special.

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a great stay. Jane and Steve were very friendly and welcoming, tea and cake on arrival was much needed. Our room was gorgeous, we had the one with the separate living room and the huge bath which was great. The house and garden is lovely and we were very comfortable. The breakfast was great with lots of choice and the location is a good base for seeing the sites. Steve and Jane have great knowledge of the local area and will book restaurants for you as required. They were very helpful and keen to get our feedback on any recommendations so they could keep updated and pass on to future visitors. All in all, a lovely break in a beautiful part of the country.

Room Tip: It depends on your budget, we saw a few rooms as they were changing over and Jane showed us, they al...

My husband, two friends and I stayed 2 nights in the above in order to visit the Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project.I booked on line and was slightly confused by the website so rang the proprieter,Steve who patiently talked me through the booking process.I hadn't realised that this B&B only had 6 rooms and each was named by an adjective - ours was 'Stunning' and it certainly was! Amazingly comfortable and spacious. Our friends also found their room very comfortable. In addition Steve and Jane have a good knowledge of the local area and were able to recommend restaurants which we appreciated. They also knew the shortcuts to other areas of interest. Most of all they made us feel very welcome and provided much welcome cups of tea and home made cake when we arrived on the first day. It felt like staying at a friends' house but without the obligation !
