We have stayed in many Premier Inn's including St Austell before and always found them clean and with very comfortable beds. However we stayed for one night recently and although the children slept well our double bed (room 27) was so uncomfortable that we both woke with terrible back ache. Every time my husband turned over the mattress springs "pinged". The room was also very hot, we tried to follow the instructions to cool the room but they appeared to have no effect. We don't normally complain but we did mention how uncomfortable the bed was and although the friendly receptionist offered to get it checked at no point were we offered the "good night guarantee". I suppose we should have complained in the night but the thought of upheaving the children to another room just wasn't worth it. Otherwise ideal for Eden and Heligan. The Carclaze Inn next door is pretty average, nothing spectacular but lovely, very accommodating staff. So to sum it up, clean rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast, average dinner but the bed was just not up to the usual Premier Inn standard. We would stay again but just hope the bed is more comfortable next time.

Great for seeing the Eden Project. The family room was spacious and perfectly suited to a family of 4 including a 4 year old and a 1 year old. I was not tempted by the restaurant having spent the day at the Eden project so my partner got some take away fish and chips (had to drive though) which was perfect! Although it appears to face the sea we did not get a sea-view family room. I did ask when I checked in if it was possible to get a sea-view room and was told that my room 'faces that way' and indeed it did not face the sea! We got the room for £29 which really is a bargain and so well worth it!

Premier Inn No.2 of a week-long break to Cornwall.

Chose this hotel only for close proximity to Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan.

Check in was the usual standard friendly efficient Premier Inn welcome.
Room was standard Premier Inn family room size with standard Premier Inn bathroom but the shower was so slow heating up!

Our meals were had in the adjacent Carclaze restaurant - one of the Table Table chain and far better than the Brewers Fayre at our previous Premier Inn in Portishead.

The downsides:
Towels looked tired and flat with subtle shades of grey!!
Vodafone users please note that Vodafones do not work in or around the hotel.
For over 24 hours there was no internet Wi-Fi access at the hotel indicating that the 'Information Superhighway' struggles west of the River Tamar!!!

Would think twice about returning here!

Although this is one of the newer premier inns I found our room to be tired and could have done with a good clean. Due to availability we were placed in a disabled room large room but no there was no seating and the bathroom needed a refit. I suspect prices here are high due to the proximity of the Eden project. We have stayed in much nicer Premier Inns for alot less money. Staff were friendly & helpful but the room was noisy from other occupants and from the car park.
Lovely views from the car park and the ajoining bar/restaurant.
Overall - Disappointing.

Just got back from a three night stay and can only say good things about the hotel, everything was spot on regarding the room. It was a good size clean and tidy with everything you need. I did find the mattress a bit on the soft side but that's just a personal preference. The staff were very friendly and made you feel very welcome.
We also used the pub-restaurant next door for the evening meal and breakfast using the meal deal on offer. This turned out to be good value. The pub was very relaxing with a good atmosphere and the staff helpful and friendly. The food was also very nice.
