We arrived very tired, the receptionist was very friendly and helpful.
The hotel was very clean and tidy.
We went to our room, opened the door to the corridor and the heat hits you, the room was just the same, impossible to sleep in.
We got a fan to go in the room, opened the window but it made no difference. It wasn't hot outside so it had to be a problem with the hotels heating system.
We also chose to leave this hotel and pay more money to stay elsewhere, such a shame as it would have been a great place to stay.

Booked for a 3 night stay but could only cope with staying the one night! Hotel was clean and tidy, staff very nice but it was just far too hot in the room and in the hotel in general both during the day and at night.
There is something very wrong with the heating system of this building as although the outside temperature was 20 degrees maximum inside was a much different story. Everybody in the hotel had the same problem. We were on the first floor and were told that this was the coolest floor!

We ended up paying for 3 nights to only stay for 1 and had to book a much more expensive hotel for another night before cutting short our visit.

When booking a Travelodge, you know you are getting no frills. We spent 10 nights here at St Austell and have very few complaints. We'd checked trip advisor before setting off and had seen that the property gets very warm, so took our own fan, but the hotel had provided one already, so we didn't need it. The hotel was clean and tidy. It was due to be refurbished in the second week we were there, but didn't look shabby at all. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. Getting extra pillows or towels was no trouble and sorted promptly. We used the hotel as a base for travelling and found st Austell to be the ideal location. We only have 2 gripes: The sofa bed was very uncomfortable for my daughter to sleep on (but we asked for an extra quilt to soften it and this was no trouble for the staff). The KFC & McDonalds that share the car park were handy, but did attract the 'Boy Racer' type that tended to have loud music, revving their engines and screeching their tyres late into the night - and closing the window wasn't an option due to the heat.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel are quieter and have less external lights shining in your window.
