I was in there area for the Eden Project but so glad I visited Heligan as well. It is a delightful place with lovely walks and gardens. Wear good walking shoes or flats - some of the paths are steepish although well covered in mesh to give grip,

I know everyone raves about the Eden project - but this is a REAL garden!! Wonderful plants & fantastic views. This was our second visit, and we found so much more to see - even the weather was kind. It is quite steep in places, so wheelchair access is limited, and unless motorised would be very difficult. We are in our 60's and found it manageable as long as you take it steady, although to our shame we were overtaken by a group of ex WRENs in their 90's!!! The food in the restaurant is local, well cooked & well priced. Staff are all friendly & helpful. This is THE garden to visit.

I have been fortunate to visit the gardens on many occasions and in all seasons. Even in the Winter the gardens still look amazing. It is a very magical place, where time seems to stand still.

The gardens and the walks really do give a great sense of exploration, rejuvenation, conservation, science and history.

The before and after photos are evidence of all the hard work that has gone into turning a wilderness into what can be seen today. Highly recommend the scone with jam and clotted cream eaten in the sun (if your as lucky as we were)
