“Paradise on earth.”

There are many ways to extol the virtues of these cottages, we have known both their caravan site for many years and the last couple of years their cottages. Judith and their family have always given us both excellent and thoughtful service throughout the years. We discovered their caravan site first when we had a camper van and wanted somewhere that did not have a noisy club house, we progessed to their caravans and a couple of years ago to their well equipped cottages.
We have spent two relaxing Christmas's in one of their cottages for two and have felt pampered from the moment we arrived, the fridge was filled with breakfast goodies and one can buy eggs warm from the chickens when required and if you don't feel like cooking a real homemade pasty.
For us to swim on Christmas Day was an absolute treat and the adjacent leisure room has all that you need to keep a family of all ages amused on days when the weather is poor.
Unfortunately this year our plans excluded a visit but hopefully we will soon be able to return and enjoy what we consider the best holiday cottages in Cornwall.
As a base for exploring Cornwall, it is perfect, with Truro only twenty minutes away in a car, in the evenings with the comfort surroundings you can plan the next days adventure. Over the years we have compiled a notebook of the best pubs to visit for lunch, for our 'grey cell' are not as efficient as they used to be ! Beautiful beaches to comb or relax on make a perfect holiday, but to return to relaxing and well equipped surroundings, completes the perfect holiday.

Room Tip: For couples Swallows is perfect. The site does show what is available for families, all are excelle...

Tregongeeves is as close as it can be to perfection - with 5 Star accommodation, great playroom, indoor pool and, of course, the animals for the children (and some of the grow-ups if they admit it!).

We enjoyed our second stay in Lovedays, which we all loved last year. This time we were here for our daughter's 9th birthday (at her insistence) and she's already planning the same for her 10th! As for the wonderful Judith, she is the best property owner we have ever met. Judith welcomes everyone as personal friends, she is always ready with helpful information and local tips and is happy to act as 'Pied Piper' for the kids each morning when she takes them to feed the animals. She even presented a homemade birthday cake and some beautiful fluffy socks to Katie for her birthday - where else would you get that?

We will definitely be returning and would award more than five stars if we could. The only problem of course is that we really don't want too many people to know our secret!!!

Room Tip: We had a look at all the rooms last year before we left and ,rest assured, whichever you pick they a...

Enjoyed a week in the Gallery cottage. Our 2 year old loved feeding the animals and collecting eggs from the hens. Had relatively good weather for a week in April. Owner Judith provided plenty of recomendations for trips out. Made good use of rec room, play area and dvdcollection. Cottage very spacious compared to other cottages we've stayed at. Enjoy!

Room Tip: We chose gallery as has a bath.Easier with a toddler.Has shower too.

Can only agree with all the other comments, warmly welcomed by Judith as soon as we arrived and nothing was too much trouble throughout our week there. Really lovely touches show the attention to detail you can expect such as the freshly baked scones and clotted cream on the kitchen table when we arrived and the 'breakfast pack' of sausages, bacon and eggs waiting in the fridge (all local high quality stuff, not supermarket fodder!). Our 3 yr old loved getting up to join Judith every morning to feed all the animals and collect the freshly laid eggs and the facilities such as the pool, games room and DVD library all came in handy on the days the British weather let us down. We stayed in Hedgerows which had ample space for us and 2 young children (1 in a baby cot with us in the main bedroom) and it was equipped with everything you would need on a weeks holiday and more besides. The Cottages are also really well located to get to most of the places in Cornwall you would want to visit (Truro, Padstow and Newquay within 30 mins, St Ives less than an hour drive and Mevagissy, Fowey etc all within 15-20 mins drive with Eden Project 10 mins too). The local Polgooth Inn (as recommended by Judith) also did top notch pub food and very family friendly. Overall a great place to spend a weeks holiday and the amount of repeat bookings is testimony to how good the quality of the Cottages is. Will go back ourselves and wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

Great from arrival to departure! Loved the swimming pool, especially in poor weather! Rec room was great to let off steam...even granny had a turn on exercise machines! Wish weather had been good enough for tennis and play park as both seemed great.

Stayed in Donkey Mill, was great as could take grandparents with us and stay together easily. Lots of room and extras eg wood burner, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher. Rooms really lovely, decorated beautifully and very clean. Baby piece of mind kit good, although need toddler things eg potty.

Near to lots of attractions and local shops. Pub walking distance!! Can't wait to return!

Room Tip: Not all cottages have a bath, essential for our bedtime routine, check descriptions carefully.

We first stayed last year when I was 7 months pregnant with my son and we wanted somewhere to keep our two (now three) year old daughter happy where we wouldn't have to leave the site if anything went wrong. Last year was brilliant - everything you could possibly need is provided and we enjoyed it so much we booked again for this year as it would be a safe first family holiday choice.

Judith had put a lot of thought into the baby piece of mind kit and really I only needed to have brought nappies with me as she'd provided everything you could think of even down to mats to put under the high chair to protect the carpet, some being brand new.

We had a disaster on the first morning when our car wouldn't start to go to Asda and get some food. Being Easter Sunday we were stuck for three days. The kids were really happy between the animals, toys on site, the play area and the swimming pool. The welcome kit and the frozen pies in the rec room really saved us too. Judith was really helpful in getting us taxi numbers and recommending garages. It would have been a total disaster somewhere less nice.

The week continued in this vane (travel sick kids, first tooth etc) but we came away having a lovely week still because the place is so nice, the facilities are great, Judith and John are really friendly and helpful - when we thought our boiler broke on Monday night John came straight over only to discover we hadn't realised a warning light was a button. He took it all in good humour and came back the next morning to check wit was still ok

The highlight for Ella has to be the animal feeding. She could brush the donkeys, give bread to the chickens, scraps to the pigs and cuddle (yes, cuddle) the sheep whenever she wanted. Each morning she could help Judith feed the animals and collect the eggs for her breakfast. The year before two of the sheep were lambs being bottle fed and she helped with that. The sheep are amazing - they're like large puppies. Kids can get up close with the animals without a lot of the health and safety constraints that are often imposed - it's a common sense approach that is hard to find in this day and age. The pool is fab for young kids and the play area was a real hit this year

The cottage facilities are great. The washer was a godsend with two travel sick kids and I always appreciate a dishwasher! There are airers, cleaning materials and a fully stocked kitchen (with utensils, pans etc). There's sky and a DVD player. If you are traveling with a baby / small child, there's all the kit just there. It's also really nice and rustic so you feel like you're getting a treat too.

I feel like I'm rambling now but I genuinely think this is a fantastic place to go with young kids. I am not the sort of person to keep going back to the same place but I am sure we'll be back for a third time. When travelling with kids it is worth paying the bit extra for the safety net, the convenience of the well stocked cottages, everything is on site and major sites are nearby and just old-fashioned, brilliant customer service. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Room Tip: We stayed in Gallery which is great. Good for putting kids to bed and having the rest of the cottage...

Superb accommodation and facilities. The children never had a moment spare. Very chilled, quiet, very warm and cosy, close to the attractions of Cornwall. The safe and friendly farm animals are such a bonus, the pool warm... perfect, Thank you Judith.

Room Tip: Quakers is an upside down house, great excitement!
