We were looking for somewhere affordable at the end of busy day travelling. Our landlady recommended this place as their is an early meal deal (think its 2 4 1 before 6.30pm ) The dining area was very welcoming with roaring fire. The meal portions were amazing. My husband and I both ordered steak and we both felt it was the best we ever had.Thought the drinks were good price too. Our 2 meals and drinks came to around £16. Will definately go again! (plenty of parking too)

This was our second visit here this year. Our first impression had been good so back we went and this time as the restaurant area seemed cold we chose to eat in the bar. We had two starters, 2 medium priced mains, one ice cream dessert, one small coke and one glass of tap water between us and the bill was £48. The starters were basic although there was nothing wrong with the mains, they were properly cooked and tasted fine. The decor is a bit tatty though and generally we thought it resembled a holiday camp bar rather than a pub. The hole in the floor in the ladies loo mentioned by another reviewer is still there,

Compared to other places we have visited and eaten in recently this did not represent value for money or a great experience and I imagine that we will not be returning here any time soon

Me and my finace eat here at least one a month on the 'Early Bird' deal. We have never once had a bad meal here and are always welcomed in, we tend to get there about 5pm for the start of the deal and sometimes it's just us, and other times there are more people. We never have to wait long for the food. Yes, like some of the other review the toilets are a bit dated and could do with updating and fixing. We can have a two mains, and two drinks and it comes to under £20, which these days is fantastic. The portion sizes are massive and you certainly don't leave feeling hungry.

We have been eating here for 5 years.
We have always had fantastic food and a warm welcome.
The Sunday lunch is the best in Cornwall. The food is served very quickly and you are always asked if you need more of anything.
The meat melts in your mouth. The roast potatoes and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The yorkshire puddings are massive! All of the vegetables are fabulous (normally 5 types). The meal is finished off with lashings of top quality gravy. I can never eat it all and give my husband a slice of meat and 2 potatoes. I am always too full up to eat pudding. But the puddings look wonderful.
The a-la-carte menu is extensive but the food is wonderful. They serve the best homemade chips around. Fish and chips are better than the local fish and chip shops!
Tha lasagne is perfect. I have never had a bad meal.
Visit during the week from 5 till 6.30 for the early bird offers.
Do not be afraid to try this place. Even the beer is good!

after a 45 minute wait the steak my friend had was cold, the bread was actually green
2 of us had to keep our coats on as it was so cold in the room, all of this was made worse
by the staff offering no apology which would have been the least they could do. the floor in the ladies loo has been dug up so the get together with friends was totally ruined at this dire place.
