We stayed five nights on a golf break organised by Golfbreaks.com

The hotel is in an excellent position overlooking the bay and the Cornish coast. The golf course is in walking distance and there are some excellent walks along the cliff tops. Beware of going too close to the edge !

Every member of staff was very professional and proficient at his or her job but friendly enough to be able to ask questions, chat or just pick their brains about local knowledge.

We were allocated a corner room overlooking the large outdoor swimming pool and part of the coast. Our room was very comfortable. We were greated on arrival with a bowl of fruit and our bottled water was replaced daily.

We ate from the table d'hote menu in the main restaurant each evening which was excellent, complemented by an excellent range of wines from around the world, including some local wines. Breakfast can be either self service or you can be served if you wish. We would have liked to try the brasserie but unfortunately this was only available on Fridays and Saturdays.

We would not hesitate to return nor to recommend this to anyone who wishes to play golf and/or explore Cornwall. We could also recommend a visit into the local harbour at Charlestown which is within walking distance for the reasonably active.

Room Tip: Although all the rooms are very comfortable a view of the coast is worth asking for. Although there is a lift, if you have difficulty walking, it would be worth asking for a room near the lift as some of the corridors are quite long.

Just returned from the most wonderful stay at this amazing hotel, and we cannot recommend it highly enough!
From the welcome, by the extremely efficient doorman and reception staff, to the splendour of the hotel interior and spectacular views. The sparkling cleanliness of the rooms, and as usual the wonderful staff throughout the hotel whether from the chambermaids, to lounge and restaurant staff up to the management. We were soon made to feel like friends. We had a slight mix up over the booking, but the extremely and ever professional staff soon had it all sorted without so much as a hiccup! The whole experience has left us longing for more.
We greatly enjoyed the Spa, which made us feel very relaxed at the start. The evening meals, eaten overlooking the wonderful sea view were exceptional. Very well designed, cooked, and presented. Great chefs! We experienced crab with avocado ice cream, duck breast with confit of leg, and sponge pudding with ginger custard to name but a few. The breakfasts were very good also.
Our rooms were beautiful, with very comfortable beds. We enjoyed a fantastic nights sleep. There was entertainment put on, and it was extremely pleasant sitting in the lounge after dinner listening to live music.
It is easy to find plenty to do here. The golf course is certainly recommended for keen golfers, whilst golf widows like myself can be fully pampered in the Spa. The are some wonderful cliff walks, and even a buggy available to take you down to the lovely beach if you are unable yourself.
We visited having been frequent visitors in the past and were so delighted to find that not only has this wonderful hotel not lost anything, but the owners are clearly continuing to invest, and we did feel we were the first to stay in the rooms and very special! Absolutely worth a visit!

Room Tip: If you can it is well worth investing in a Deluxe Sea view room - makes the stay even more special!

I stayed at this wonderful hotel for a three night break. The staff were fantastic throughout, very friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated in a beautiful location. Views across the Bay were stunning. The hotel is centrally situated within Cornwall, making touring very simple. Plenty of NT properties and outdoor locations nearby. Dining facilities and food were marvellous with a comfortable lounge area to relax in. There is a gym and spa facilities which were a pleasure to visit. The hotel is spotlessly clean and really provided top value for money. As a solo traveller I felt valued and looked after very well.

One of the best Hotels I have stayed in.
Great reception when arrived staff very welcoming especially Ali one of the managers who dealt with us and sorted any problems out.
The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped with good service.
The food was brilliant, good choice and superbly prepared and to top that excellent waiter service.
The facilities are first class and the golf course a really good test of golf for mid handicappers.
Where ever you went the staff we so helpful and polite its bee a joy staying.

Room Tip: Just enjoy it

Superbly situated hotel particularly if you enjoy golf. Our 5 day stay experienced varying weather conditions and on one of the better days we had a most enjoyable walk along the cliff path into Charlestown, home of the tall ships, and later back at the hotel enjoyed a light lunch on the beautiful outdoor terrace with views across the bay. We found the staff extremely helpful and friendly, the service excellent and the food delicious. We have stayed at the hotel a few times and are always amazed at how immaculate it is kept, our rooms always give the impression we are the first people to use it. Due to the weather being so unreliable it is nice to have the comfortable lounge to read in or there is an excellent pool with spa facilities and therapies available. A down side for some could be the long way down to the sandy beach, but on our last visit to the hotel I believe plans were in progress in relation to this and there was a little car you could book to take you down there.

Room Tip: Choose the price band you feel is right for you, as the three different rooms we have had have all been beautifully decorated and ideally situated.
