“Great place for visit to Eden Project”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2013

We stayed at Woodpeckers for three nights towards the end of June. We were in the area to visit Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan (both highly recommended). Jo had been in touch before we arrived to check our arrival time so she could make sure she was home. We received a warm welcome and stayed in Room 1 which was lovely. Others have mentioned the great assortment of toileteries, nibbles, chocs etc. The breakfasts were made to order, piping hot and substantial. Jo's recommendation of Britannia Inn was excellent for evening meals - we realised how nice after two mediocre meals in pubs at our next stopping point in Devon. The directions are spot on - 1 mile up the road although we were beginning to wonder if we had missed the house so it is worth noting your mileage!

Just back from 2 nights at woodpeckers. As other reviewers say where to start!!. Accomodation was fantastic the suite not really a bedroom was like a 5star spa room with every conceivable item you could wish for If you forget to bring any face preparation or shampoo etc Don't worry Jo will have it there for your use. The bed was the most comfortable we have ever had in a hotel and as for the breakfast!!!.we recently stayed in the Waldorf hotel in London and the choice of breakfast items was about 25% of what you get at Jo's place Need I say more. We would like to thank Jo for being such a wonderful hostess and making our short stay memorable. We will definitely be back when we stay in Cornwall and hope not too soon.

Room Tip: Any of the rooms i am sure will be excellent you will not be disappointed

An absolutely brilliant place to stay. Jo was so friendly when we arrived. She showed us to our room and answered all our queries about Eden Project ,places to eat and places to visit. The room was out of this world. Clean, comfortable and loads of goodies to make your stay memorable. The breakfast on both mornings was superb, with so much choice. Would recommend Woodpeckers to anyone who is thinking of staying in the area.No negatives at all .Jo even gave us a lift down to the local restaurant so we didnt have to wait for a taxi as they were busy!Great place to stay and great host. Thank you.

What an amazing place to stay. Jo and Rob made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Every little detail was catered for, they really thought of everything. A friendly couple who were eager to advise us about places nearby to visit and to help out in any way they could. When writing a review like this, we like to list both the positives and negatives but here there were no negatives. Absolutely perfect in every way.

well, well do i start. lovely old cottage, wonderful hosts and excellent food.best hospitality tray we have ever had.! chocolates, biscuits, crisps, ryvitas, fruit juice and more.in bathroom we had at least three towels each, for one night. there were numerous toiletries and many extras such as shoe shine kit, shavers, tooth flossers, even sanitary items for ladies. breakfast lovely and again, so many extras and choices. we will certainly be retuning!

Better than a five star hotel. We stayed here for one night while at the beer festival. Tucked away up a lovely road with woodland around it made for a special stay. Wonderful, clean , welcoming, friendly and the breakfast is to die for. beautiful bedroom and en suite and the attention to detail was second to none. everything you would ever need. wish we could have stayed longer. will definitely be going back. thanks Jo.

We've just returned from a weeks stay at Woodpeckers. First class from the minute we arrived. Jo the owner was very welcoming and friendly. We stayed in the Lodge which is totally separate from the B & B accommodation. It was just fantastic and definately had the "WOW " factor. We didnt want for anything, everything imaginable was supplied. Tea, coffee, sugar, Hot chocolate, Bovril, a jar of biscuits, snacks, a bowl of fresh fruit, milk. The bathroom again was filled with everything you could possibly need from Shampoo, body lotion, shaving gel, toothbrushes, shower gel etc. The accommodation was absolutely spotless. It even has its own little garden with a deck and table and chairs, which overlooks an old clay chimney. We just could not fault our holiday, it was just perfect. The B & B itself is down a narrow lane, but easy accessable - 5 minutes to The Eden Project, 10 minutes from Charlestown and Mevagissey. Lovely woodland walks closeby and cycle routes. Our dog was in heaven! We will definately be returning. Weve stayed in many nice hotels but nowhere touches this. We really did not want to leave.
