I stayed at the hotel with my hubby for my birthday. We used the swimming pool which we had all to ourselves and the outside hot tub which is on the roof. Both where amazing! You don't need any towels, you dress in your room and use the toweling robe they provide you in your room then you use there towels after your swim. You can use the swimming pool and hot tub whenever you like, they give you instructions on removing the covers if they are on, which is very straight forward. The hot tub is always set at 38c so was gorgoeus! The bed was really comfy and they have a great selection of breakfasts which are brilliantly cooked and presented. They even recommended a local restuarant in charlesdown to have dinner which again was brilliant. The hotel restuarant intself was also very popluar with guests. Would definetly love to go back again!

We arrived at Boscundle Manor early afternoon and were instantly stunned by how fabulous the place looked. Inside was just as nice, wonderfully clean, comfortable and homely. After being invited to wait a few minutes in the lounge, we were then shown around the building and were made to feel completely relaxed as it was made clear the building, grounds and facilities were ours to explore and use whenever we wanted.
The room was beautiful. We stayed in the Scarlett Suite which is very grand but also really really cosy. All the little extra touches were very well received; robes, toiletries, the retro radio... loved it!
Our stay was on a Sunday and so the hotel was very quiet and we felt like we had the place to ourselves. We were also lucky as it was a lovely warm sunny day and so could enjoy drinks out on the front lawn and a peaceful stroll around the grounds. My girlfriend loved her massage and we both equally enjoyed the pool and hot-tub (which we were also able to take advantage of under starlight later in the evening after dinner).
Before dinner we sat out on the lawn again and were brought the menu and canopes, which were totally delicious! It was certainly a taste of things to come. We were entertained in the bar whilst we ordered our food, and given some complimentary champagne which was a lovely personal touch as the reason for the trip was for my girlfriend's birthday, and it was nice that they made a fuss of her.
The food at dinner was absolutely stunning. Both my girlfriend and I told waiter that it was the best meal we'd ever had, and it really was. (It was also nice that this feedback had reached the rest of the hotel staff by the morning, which showed to us they appreciated our comments!)
Breakfast was also very impressive, and there was certainly no rush from the staff for us to check out. In fact they couldn't have done enough for us for the entire duration of our stay and almost seemed sad to see us go, even though we assured them we'd be coming back soon. We were welcome to chill out and enjoy the building for as long as we wanted in the morning before we left.
The whole experience was perfect and we'll certainly be going back as often as possible. We felt completely at home and the staff really couldn't do enough for us, at any time. We only wish we could have stayed longer.
Can't wait to go back!

We stayed for 2 nights, the whole hotel is just perfect. Staff made us feel very welcome, they have a very good chef, even the breakfast is special. We ate in the restaurant one evening very nice. The bedrooms are all individual and well equipped. We carn't say enough good things about the place, wish we could have stayed longer.

We stayed 2 nights at Boscundle Manor and from the moment we drove up to the beatuful hotel, we had a fantastic time and felt thoroughly looked after. The rooms are all individually decorated to a very high, luxurious standard. The staff were so friendly and helpful, recommending which beach the conditions were best for surfing on the Sunday morning. The faciliies were great, really clean well kept indoor and outdoor swimming pools. The food was absolutely fantastic and the staff were the most attentive I have come across, but were never intrusive. The breakfast was the best I have eaten whilst staying at a hotel.

We returned to Boscundle for our first wedding anniversary meal - and needless to say we were not disappointed. Whenever we return the hotel feels like home and this occasion was no different. Ian looked after us during our stay and as ever is so thoughtful and nothing is too much trouble. Your chef cooked us a fantastic meal, we were just disappointed that we couldn't manage dessert! The lovely little extras made our evening and we can't wait to return. The hotel was beautifully lit with candles and the red carpet welcome was amazing.

We stayed at the hotel with our 2 young children. We booked late for a bank holiday weekend and we were given the Beatrix Suite in part of the cottage at the top of the garden. The Suite was nice however it did look tired in places, especially in the built on sitting room area where the bedroom door creaked loudly (a big issue when we had a 16 month old trying to sleep!) and the chest of drawers was missing a handle. It also smelt of damp. It didn't bother us too much as we knew we booked late so we were lucky to find a hotel of this quality with availability at all. The little touches in the room were great - Molton Brown toilettries, lots of towels and the comfyest hotel bed I've ever slept in. Our 3 year old used the sofa bed with a SnuggleSac which she loved and we were given a travel cot for our youngest.

We ate in the restaurant on the first night and to be honest we were a little disappointed with the quality of the food as the lamb was over-cooked. However, service was good and the chef also knocked up my 3 year old a child's meal at very short notice both nights we were there. The breakfast was delicious and beautifully fresh.

The staff at the hotel are excellent. They organised a lovely babysitter for us at very short notice and when we had a problem with the hot water and the lock on our door it was sorted out immediately. Nothing was too much trouble.

Unfortunately the spa was very dirty on the day that I used it and that put me off using it again but my husband said it had been cleaned the next day. The indoor pool was also freezing and had hair floating around in it! It didn't bother my husband or 3 year old but I gave it a miss. The grounds are beautiful and the house is gorgeous with a lovely lounge to relax in, daily papers, wellies to borrow on rainy days etc. We’d stay here again (preferably without children so that we could really relax) but I'd definitely want one of the nicer rooms. We'd also have really liked the tea and cake on arrival but this wasn't offered.

From their website the hotel promises so much but fails to deliver these promises. The food and restaurant are both excellent and much of the hotel has benefitted from recent refurbishment to a high specification. Sadly that is where it ends. Staffing appears to be the biggest issue; being cut to miminal to cuts costs with no thought to guest services. We arrived PM on Sunday 5th Sept for 4 nights. The personal greeting by the owners was pleasant but appeared pretentious rather than warm and it became evident it was possibly also through necessity as there were no other members of staff on duty.
We stayed in the Joanna room which looked like it's pictures on the website but did not live up to the quality expected. The en suite has not enjoyed the refurbishment and was looking tired with broken tiles, a badly repaired sink and other signs of old age. We were not advised of the switch for the pump for the Mira shower so endured a trickle for the first day or so. even with the pump in operation the shower was not the best as it was not possible to direct the jet correctly. Although the food was excellent and the canapes a superb touch, dinner on the first evening became overly protracted as there was only one member of staff to man reception, tend the bar and wait at table. Consequently guest service in each of these areas suffered and detracted from one's enjoyment. Booking one's evening meal had to be done at breakfast which removed any chance of spontaneity or flexibility. Often it would only be possible to dine as late as 815pm. This was necessary in order to keep the staff requirements down. The "Day Spa" consists of an indoor swimming pool which was well appointed and a 4 x person hot tub. Unfortunately the hot tub was located outside so was not a relaxing alternative during the horrendous rain endured during the first day of our stay. On checking in we were encouraged to consider massages in the 'spa' room which we duly booked for the following day as both my wife and I were experiencing back and neck problems. Having planned our day around the massages we duly returned a litle over an hour before the allotted time only to be advised 10mins before the appointment that neither massage could go ahead as the therapist was not available. Due to the torrential rain the option of relaxing in the hot tub was out of the question. The hotel is failing to live up to it's own illusions. Buscudle Manor makes a superior Guest House but not the exclusive hotel it considers itself to be.
