“Will definitely be back for a longer stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2010

Stayed just the one night in this lovely hotel; friendly staff, clean, fresh bedroom with four poster bed. Room opened onto a private patio (ideal for a coffee). Delicious food in the restaurant in the evening and a great English breakfast in the sunny conservatory in the morning. (Recommend the scrambled eggs). Great indoor swimming pool. Will definitely be back for a longer stay next time; ideal for visiting the Eden Project.

What a charming place Boscundle Manor is! My friend and I have just returned from a weekend break and were delighted by the experience. David and Sharon couldn't do enough to make our stay an enjoyable experience. The decor in the bedrooms and public rooms was lovely - stylish but not over the top. The place still had a cosy feel. The food at breakfast and at dinner was superb and the waiting staff were the right balance of polite and friendly. The gardens were a delight and we were lucky to have arrived on the hottest weekend of the year so far so we could enjoy tea on loungers by the croquet lawn.
A great location for the Eden Project and other gardens in the area and Fowey and Mevagissy are nearby. Cant' wait to return with my husband in the not too distant future

We stayed at Boscundle Manor for two nights after staying the previous two nights at the Barclay House Hotel in Looe. Boscundle Manor is a lovely building with lovely ground and decor. We stayed in the Agatha Cottage and the room was clean and very nicely decorated, the only downside was that only internal doors separated you from the two neighbours in the cottage block so you could often eavesdrop on others. The food was excellent, breakfast was super with a great choice provided and the evening meal truly outstanding! The indoor pool was very nice and a great plus in our climate, although the temperature seemed a little on the cool side. We were disappointed that the outdoor pool is not in use and that whole area looked somewhat run down, as the weather was so great it was a real shame, especially as the hotel we stayed in the two nights prior had a superb outdoor pool area. The hot tub was a nice extra ,but due to its location next to the window of another cottage we personally felt a little uncomfortable and intrusive! We loved the food and the service was good , we would still recommend the hotel to others and with a few tweeks it could be perfect!

Visited for a 3 night stay with my Wife for our Anniversary. We expected the hotel to be good considering the reviews but were BLOWN AWAY by the quality of the hotel and the service given.
From the moment we arrived (early) they couldn't have helped us more with Coffee and a chat even though our room wasn't ready and then supplied us with cold drinks for our walk to the Eden Project. This is only a 30 minute walk away and a very pleasent walk too so would recommend (especially as you get discounted entry for walking).
When checked in, our room was lovely and wonderfully clean. the decour all over the Hotel was very good and as well as feeling like a luxury hotel it also felt like home too which in my experience travelling with work is all too rare these days!!
We ate at the Restaurant on one of the nights to celebrate our 1st Anniversary and can only rave about the great quality of the food and all things considered good value too!
The evening was set off beautifully by Ian (Duty Manager) when arriving for the meal with a glass of champagne and the table given extra special decoration for us to celebrate.
The whole time we were there they always made us feel very comfortable and welcome and i will highly recommend you try the hotel too and judging from the other guests we spoke to (many on a re-visit to Boscundle) they would do the same.
THANK YOU BOSCUNDLE FOR MAKING THIS HOLIDAY SO WONDERFUL!! :)

I have travelled the world but have never written a review before, but I thought the Boscundle really deserved to be written about. We stayed at the hotel on May 28 for 3 nights staying in the beatrix suite. The hotel was clean and so nicely decorated. The gardens were just so beautiful and peaceful. Our room was very cosy, just right for a couple. It had a cosy living room with LCD tv and our own car parking space. On arrival, we were met by Ian and Mark who were, throughout our stay, so friendly and welcoming. This place was very professional yet you could have a laugh with the staff. They really did bend over backwards to make our stay comfortable. We asked for a table and chairs for our garden area and the guys were there in 5 Mins with them!! The breakfast room was so peaceful and the food was so nicley done, the fruit so fresh and the cooked breakfast, lovely!! Although we didnt have dinner there, the standard of food choice was remarkable.
The owner's wern't there throughout our stay but I would like to thank them for employing such great staff because it really does make a difference. There isn't much in the area but I would rather stay somewhere brilliant like this and have to travel then stay somewhere the complete opposite. I dont understand why this is classed as a 2* hotel because it really is worthy of a 4!! Thanks to everyone at Boscundle Manor. Keep up the good work.

From the first sighting it looked like it would be a fabulous experience and it was. The main manor was cosy and welcoming but we stayed in a cottage suite and the privacy it gave was ideal. Food was great and it was near to the two major attractions we wanted to visit. Be aware that if you are not driving there are no shops for miles! highly recommended.

...I really don't know where to start!
I have become obsessed with 'written complaints'! If I feel a service/situation is not right and am 'taken for a ride' plus having to pay for it, I WILL make my feelings known!!!
I just CANNOT find a single point to complain about with regard to BOSCUNDLE MANOR, ST AUSTELL, CORNWALL -bit peeved, if I'm totally honest!!
Myself and my long-suffering husband went there for an 'overnight, get away from it all' stay (lots of mad stress at the min!)
From the second we stepped out of the car in the hotel carpark - total peace desended on us - honestly, it was like we'd moved into a completley different dimension of reality!
The hotel and beautiful grounds felt like serenity itself!
We stayed in 'Scarlet' (all the rooms have names) - absolutely gorgeous. Decorated (as the name suggests!) in shades of red with a huge, (& very comfy!) bed, old style radio, hairdrier, built in wardrobe & shelves with ironing facilities & storage. A seperate 'lounge' with a cosy couch, desk & flat-screen t.v. There was a good-sized bath/shower room - thoughtfully equipped with top brand shampoo/soap +cotton wool balls & bath salts! Well stocked mini bar plus, several varieties of complimentary tea, coffee, hot choc, horlicks, fresh milk & kettle! There was even a complimentary fruit bowl!
The hotel itself was just full of character - built in the 1700's I think Dave said (owner) Lovely decor & little touches throughout.
The lounge was very relaxing, with a piano at one end & several big comfy chairs, and an open fire at the opposite end.
The bar area was light and airy and very comfortable.
The conservatory was set for breakfast & well decorated.
The restaurant was beautifully decorated and perfect and we didn't feel at all 'cramped' - as some places can make you feel.
I can't describe the food - suffice to say - my husband was overjoyed & speechless with his 'well done' Aberdeen Angus steak! Absolutely TOP COMPLIMENTS go to the chef (Sharon, Dave's wife) for presentation, taste, & minimal waiting time. Also, my own special Thanks for accomodating my dietary needs by offering an alternative (& totally gorgeous!!) sauce for my steak! The sweet - well just amazing!!
We spent the day alternating between the outdoor hot tub, the indoor pool & totally chilling out under the Cornish sun - couldn't buck up the energy for a game of croquet on the lawn!!
The peace & tranquility was awesome & absolutely just what we both badly needed!
Our Thanks go to the very friendly, thoughtful & kind staff - Dave, Sharon, Ian and the Breakfast waitress (sorry, didn't catch your name!)
The downside - only one - we were only there for 1 night! Scandelous!!! We WILL be back in the VERY near future - probably just me though - to pamper myself with one of your great-value spa packages (cos we just couldn't fit it all in!!) Many Thanks
