“A wonderful, relaxing haven in beautiful Cornwall!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2010

My husband and I have just returned home from a wonderfully relaxing, restful and pampered stay at Boscundle Manor. From the moment we arrived we could not have been made to feel more welcome, the friendly staff made us a cofee on arrival, seating us for a 5 minute rest by the fire in the lounge while they took our bags up to our suite for us. We saw the New Year in in their delightful, cozy restaurant with wood burner, eating a fabulous meal that could compete with the top restaurants (compliments to the Chef!) including a delicious crab and lobster ravioli starter, and local venison cooked to perfection........delicious!
New year's day was spent lounging by the pool, reading. In the evening we enjoyed a bottle of bubbly in the hot tub (in the snow!) looking up at the stars.
After a hectic Christmas, Boscundle Manor was a true idyll, tucked away in the countryside, and offered us the perfect retreat to recharge our batteries before going back to work. Not your run of the mill boutique hotel, but a more personal, friendly place, where nothing is too much trouble. Thanks very much for a lovely stay.

Only stayed one night, but held my birthday dinner there with 8 close friends. The overall welcome was excellent, the dining room superb, and the meal and wine very
good. Breakfast was superb. Will definitely stay again.

Our stay at Boscundle Manor Hotel was one we will remember for the rest of
our lives. We arrived after a long drive and as we stepped foot into the
hotel we were warmly greeted and offered complimentary tea and cakes. It
was a small detail but it makes the difference. After a brief tour we
settled into our room, Elizabeth. It was stunning. The décor, position and
amenities were excellent. The bathroom was small, though clean and
functional.

For the week of our stay we enjoyed the full array of facilities available
at Boscundle: the well maintained pool, the outdoor hot tub (even in the
pouring rain it was superb!), the crackling fire and comfort of the lounge
and the board games in the bar area.

Every morning we took breakfast and loved the fresh juices, cereals and
cooked options available. We tried everything on the menu and were
impressed by it all. On two evenings we dined in the restaurant. The food
was stunning – delicious and beautifully presented. It was up there with
the best we’ve tasted.

The staff were superb too. They helped make the hotel appear friendly and
informal, yet provided an exquisite level of service throughout our stay.
Admittedly there were only a few other guests, but nothing was too much
trouble and they put in effort to make our honeymoon so memorable.

I would recommend this to anyone. It is perfect for a special occasion. The
owners have put evident effort in decorating and maintaining Boscundle
Manor as a unique and welcoming setting for guests.

My wife and myself thought the evening meal was grossly over priced at £35 per head , the starter consisted of a paster ball with a tea spoon of crab meat in a bisque sauce, the main course seabass tail end about 3inches with fennal which I askto be taken off but was told to leave it, the dersert hazel nut meringue with eight raspberries, the other meals had an extra price.
The so called luxlury suite was very out dated , the on suite the shower door was hanging off, and carpet on the floor which we thought was very unhygienic

Guests reading this review should note that at the time, we served a 5-5-5, 3 course fixed price menu priced at £35.00 with just 2 supplements for fillet steak and the cheese course. We now offer a daily changing 3 course table d'hote menu priced at £25 as well as a 6-6-6 al a'carte menu with individually priced courses. The Guest's bedroom (Emily Manor Room) and bathroom was totally refurbished in June 2010.

The owners of Boscundle Manor would also encourage you to read the 3 "compliments" given to this reviewer (click on promoter, Profile, Compliments). Enough said!

From the minute we arrived and recieved our very welcome tray of coffee, we felt very valued and respected clients.
We were called by the owners a day or two before our stay as we had booked a room in the outer building, but as the weather was not too favourable, they suggested we move into the main hotel to be more comfortable. An offer we were very pleased we accepted as the room 'Rebecca' was absolutley lovely. Finishing touches in decor and furtniture were beautifully chosen, and the room was altogether very cosy. The hotel food was beautifully cooked and presented, with a reasonable choice, fresh and local produce as far as I could gather, although you may struggle with choice if you decide to eat there more than twice a week, and the dining room was also very comfortable, warm and nicely decorated. The indoor pool was really pleasant with no strict opening times, and towells all provided at pool side.
Altogether a very pleasant, relaxing stay with very friendly staff - thank you to all

Super food ,relaxed and charming place to stay so close to both Eden and Heligan we managed to be able to be the first and only ones in domes for 10mins! The breakfast was super as were the wonderful evening meals in the beautifully prepared dinning room.A short dip in the pool rounded off the day nicely and the taster canapes in the bar were a great intro for the evening. We would recomend Boscundle to all our freinds.

My partner and I held our civil partnership ceremony at Boscundle in August 2008. To arrange the most perfect of ceremonies we had the pleasure of staying at the hotel on a number of occasions leading up to our big day! Sharon Parker was a fantastic wedding planner and made the most important day of our lives simply perfect!

The staff were wonderful and attentive at all times and during our exclusive use of the property leading up to the big day they made our families feel very welcome and very much at home! Even our 3 dogs were made to feel like cherished guests enjoying the pigs ears the chef had roasted especially for them!

All of our 90 guests were effusive in their praise for the event and the venue in equal measure! The whole weekend, and indeed all of stays at this hotel were magical!

This really is a Cornish treasure!

Cant wait to pay Sharon, David and all at Boscundle a visit sometime soon!
