“Our Boscundle weekend away experience”
Reviewed March 23, 2014

Have just got back today after spending 2 nights here using the red letter offer. We chose a hotel close to The Eden Project. We stayed in the Dorothy room. On arrival ( 4.00pm ) was offered coffee and cake which was a lovely gesture. The hotel is lovely and the food extremely good ( only had breakfast absolutely gorgeous, so im sure the evening meals must be just as good). Very nice staff and very helpful. Our room was apparently the smallest in the hotel, and needed decorating as very tired looking. But was told when checking out that it was due to be done. Unfortunately we forgot our swimwear so couldnt try the pool out ( were looking forward to that too ) All in all a lovely hotel .

Room Tip: Quite a few stairs, not sure if the hotel has a lift, or if there are any rooms on ground floor so m...

We stayed at Boscundle Manor using a Red Letter Days offer. We were at first due to stay in a cottage in the grounds, but as the rain was so bad when we stayed, we were upgraded to the Scarlett room. This was a lovely room with separate little living room with a sofa and TV. The bedroom was a bit cold, but it wasn't a problem as they provided a little heater. The bed was so comfortable, and it was so quiet at night - we both slept better than we have in ages!

The staff are all lovely and helpful, and there are some lovely added touches such as Hunter wellies which you can borrow if you brave the beach like we did. We found that dinner at the hotel is perhaps pushed a little too much but there's no obligation to eat in if you don't fancy it. Nothing on the menu particularly took our fancy so we went down to the Britannia Inn (5 minutes walk away) and had a good pub dinner there.

The bathroom was lovely - huge bath and lovely shower, with nice free Molton Brown toiletries (although these could be replaced daily!). The pool is nice too (small, but big enough for the size of the hotel) and we thought it was a nice touch to provide soft bath robes to wear down to the pool room.

The breakfast was lovely - nice continental choice, and the fry ups were lovely. They were quite small (fine for me, but perhaps not for people with big appetites - but there's plenty of continental!) but made with fresh, tasty ingredients. Perfect start to the day!

We certainly would stay here again - it was lovely and relaxing, and the staff were so helpful! We particularly enjoyed the tea and cake on arrival too. The only thing I would say is that you will be asked to book dinner at the hotel daily, and presented the menus on arrival. That said, if you are not interested, the staff were more than happy to recommend other local places to eat!

We booked 2 nights at Boscundle Manor using a deal which included dinner on the first night and breakfast both mornings. We had been in two minds about staying in St Austell but felt this was the right deal at the right time for us and allowed easy access to the Eden Project.

We did get a bit lost finding the place! When you turn up the road from the A390 (opposite the garden centre as mentioned in their directions), don't turn into Boscundle Close like we did! A little further along up the road there is another turning on the left which is clearly sign posted - we simply hadn't gone that far. Parking might be an issue if there are lots of guests staying but we got a space no problem when we arrived and took in the lovely surroundings. It's quite splendid inside too - very cosy and clean and were met by David who checked us in and showed us around. We were upgraded too, at no extra cost - we originally expected to be in the Jasmine Room but were given the Louisa room, which was very comfortable and had a separate bathroom.

The room itself was very clean and offered a nice view out the front of the building, so could keep an eye on the car! Tea and coffee in the room, fridge in the cupboard, TV with good reception, ironing board/press so everything handy. Plus complimentary fruit and biscuits which was a nice touch. The bathroom though - wow! Large and clean bath, gorgeous towels and robes and we enjoyed the bubbles.

Dinner was interesting. We had drinks and canapés in the bar area before being shown through to the dining area and enjoyed a lovely 3 course meal. It's not often we dine in that sort of environment or surroundings so made for a nice change for us. The food was delicious. Breakfast is served in the conservatory which makes for a nice bright place to start the day. Plenty of fruit juices, cereals and pastries available and a nice full English breakfast.

Any drinks or extras you have outside of your package will be charged on check-out. Not sure if that applies for everyone but might be worth bearing in mind if you wonder whether you need to settle the dinner or drinks bills.

Little difficult to review on only 2 nights but a great comfy bed, clean room and bathroom, lovely food and service (everyone we met said Hello and were quite friendly) made for a great short stay. Thank you Boscundle Manor!

We bought a voucher from KGB deals,we got there about 3'o clock & was greeted with tea & cake sitting on sofas in the lounge, a great start. We had booked for a meal on the first night so before getting ready we went for a swim small pool but just right for the size of the hotel. The meal was very relaxed & the food was great so we decided to book for the next night as well.We had such a good stay & the weather was so warm we thought we would stay for another night but was told the room was booked so we were upgraded to a better room for very good price. We would like to go again as we enjoyed our stay so much. I must also say a word about all the staff everyone was so friendly and professional we could not ask for the wrong thing.I have an allergy & every time we ordered the staff new about it, i was most impressed.

We did not stay here so I can't comment on the rooms. We came as part of a hen party spa day and what excellent service and value we got. We were greeted with bucks fizz on arrival and then we were shown up to the pool area. Pool is not huge but ideal for a bit of leisurely swimming and messing about. The hot tub just outside was lovely and we did have a sunny day making it even better! We all had a treatment included - I had a back, neck and shoulder massage - we were asked our preferences (gentle/medium/firm pressure). I opted for firm and I did get a really good 'going over' by the lovely therapist, who was happy to chat or be quiet as you wished. We also had lunch included - sandwiches and crisps followed by chocolate fondue - all very yummy. All in all we were very well looked after and it felt very relaxing. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed for 2 nights for a family wedding & it was just perfect. The hotel was booked out entirely for the wedding party, which was lovely. We arrived on the Friday, having afternoon tea and then had a beautiful evening meal together. The wedding itself was a fantastic day, and again, lovely to have the whole venue to ourselves.
Room was lovely, with it's own private terrace - our only small complaint is that Slugs got into our room in the night and into my shoes... Only for me to wear the shoes the next morning (not realising!) and have a slug crawl up my leg during breakfast! Not at all the hotels fault but I had to get rid of 2 pairs of shoes :(
If we lived in Cornwall, we would definitely choose this venue for our wedding, the owners were lovely, the food was delicious, the setting is stunning and the overall experience was wonderful. Thank you xx

We've just come back from a 2 night break at Boscundle Manor. We found it excellent in all aspects and came away thinking that we'd go back again. One night was on a Travelzoo deal which was excellent value. We stayed in the Elizabeth room, which was very comfortable and, if the weather had been better, we could even have sat outside on our own private patio.
