We stayed here for just one night with our two young children, we could not fault it and would have loved to have been able to stay longer. The room was beautiful and huge, with lovely fleecy sleeping bags laid out for the kids. The decor was exquisite and the pool and hot tub were a real hit. Inspite of the restaurant feeling fairly formal, they could not have done more to make us feel at ease with our over tired children being a little noisy and a little fussy. The little touches like the Molton brown minis and all the lovely choice at breakfast were really appreciated. Very welcoming and helpful staff too.

Sharon & David hosted our daughter's wedding weekend. They brought superb attention to detail, making the arrangements so easy for us and our guests. We felt as if we were having a large house party. All the staff were so discreet, yet gave full attention to everyone's needs and requirements. The food was outstanding, the rooms all one could ask for, making the occasion magical for everyone.

Sharon helped so much with advance planning, resulting in a perfectly smoothly organised wedding day, allowing everyone to take fully in the occasion. We cannot thank them enough

After an earlier disappointment elsewhere in St Austell this was superb. The welcome and the attention of the Hungarian barman/maitre d'hotel was excellent. This was even with a wedding party elsewhere in the hotel which he also handled with skill. Excellent food and wine and a really nice evening, he even phoned for a cab. Highly recommend but cannot comment on the rooms as stayed elsewhere. Will stay there next time in that part of the world.

went for a birthday weekend .Stayed in the Agatha cottage in the grounds that are very well kept and very peaceful .Although there was a large function taking place we were very well looked after. We felt the staff were really quite splendid and nothing was too much trouble .The food was excellent ,probably the best kippers that i have had for breakfast!. We would thoroughly recommend it for a special treat.

Excellent hotel, wonderful staff, clean and immaculate in décor. We thoroughly recommend staying here if visiting St Austell or this area. On arrival we were greeted with complementary afternoon tea and cake which was wonderful after a long drive. Our room, Louisa, was wonderful, beautifully designed, clean and the separate bathroom with spa was lovely. The décor of the manor was warm and very inviting. The Zento spa was a welcome addition on a wet and rainy day. Boules and Crochet are available and a lovely pool and outdoor Jacuzzi. Breakfast each morning was very nice with a good choice available. Staff were very hospitable.

We used the hotel as a base for our travels round Cornwall and it is very conveniently located for the Eden Project. Fowey and Mevagissey are lovely places to visit nearby.

We ate in several pubs in the area and highly recommend the Kingswood Bar and Restaurant, London Apprentice, St Austell. Food was amazing! The hotel also has a wonderful restaurant which had excellent reviews although we did not eat here as we tended to be travelling most days and returning late.

Room Tip: Louisa was wonderful.

We had a nice welcome and appreciated the tea and cake as a welcome. The hotel throughout is immaculate. Staff all very pleasant and helpful.

Our room was 'Emily' which was well appointed. I felt there should have been a curtain in the bathroom as I was convinced you would be visible to any one looking upwards!

We ate in the restaurant on both evenings we were there and really enjoyed the meals. Service was rather slow on the second evening especially as there were only 4 other couples.

Location is excellent for the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

This was a birthday treat for us and the price was a little more than I would have paid.

Was very disappointed with our room 'The Joanna' which was in need of refurbishment.
The owner apologised and said there was a programme of refurbishments ongoing. However looking at previous reviews I came across the following review written in Sept 2010 which described word for word many of my complaints today May 2013!
"We stayed in the Joanna room which looked like it's pictures on the website but did not live up to the quality expected. The en suite has not enjoyed the refurbishment and was looking tired with broken tiles, a badly repaired sink and other signs of old age. We were not advised of the switch for the pump for the Mira shower so endured a trickle for the first day or so. even with the pump in operation the shower was not the best as it was not possible to direct the jet correctly"
It's obvious the so called improvements are never completed and I am disgusted that this room is still let out in it's current state and at such a high price.
You can add to that list-a tatty lamp shade with pieces of tape hanging down from it,wallpaper coming loose from the wall,a DAB radio with a tatty peeling cover, stained en suite carpet, smudgy windows and an unswept dirty patio with green mould stained patio furniture. The kettle was hidden in a cupboard along with cups with cartoon characters on them?! It had to be left on the floor to boil as no table was provided near an electric point. But perhaps worse of all were the external wooden stairs leading up to Joanna. These were very tatty with scraps of blue paint on them....it was obvious to me they had not been painted for a very long time and having walked up and down them in rain realised they were quite slippery and dangerous. The owner told me these were painted regularly with special non slip paint. Again this is unlikely as the paint matched the door paint which is certainly not a non slip type.
I think the owners are interested in profit and have no interest in making good their customer's complaints. I was not offered any refund bearing in mind I had to use another room for a shower(going via the external slippery steps in the rain in a dressing gown!) and do not think this hotel offers value for money as our room was not the quality expected for the price. Boscundle Manor is a rather flash name for a decidedly average establishment.

Room Tip: Cannot do this as both The Joanna and The Elizabeth(more expensive but with knackered bathroom fitti...
